Comparative StudyFibrosis assessment in chronic hepatitis C--is the liver biopsy still necessary? The pathologist point of view.
The aim of this study was to compare the histological stage of fibrosis determined by liver biopsy with the stage of fibrosis assessed by Fibroscan, to analyze the correspondences and inconsistencies between obtained values and to discuss the role of the microscopic exam, from the pathologist point of view. ⋯ Our data concurs with the literature, which confirms presence of differences between Fibroscan and biopsy. From the point of view of the pathologist, liver biopsy still remains a valuable instrument, offering a relevant image of liver changes--as it is regarded more rather a selective than routine technique.

Pain as a late emotional reaction. Clinical research evaluating the psychosocial expression of pain disorder in preoperative and postoperative period.
A comparative analysis of the influence of psychosocial factors on pain perception in preoperative and postoperative period in patients scheduled for abdominal surgery. ⋯ In patients undergoing surgery, surgery affects their psyche, triggering a series of events that can have psychological effects on pain intensity, doctor-patient relationship, postoperative complications, and shortening of recovery time.

Comparative StudyDisparities in the access to primary healthcare in rural areas from the county of Iasi - Romania.
To identify the factors that may conduct to various forms of social exclusion of the population from the primary healthcare and to analyze health disparities as population-specific differences in the access to primary healthcare in rural compared to urban residence areas from Iasi, the second biggest county, situated in the North--East region of Romania. ⋯ The research outcomes highlight the fact that the population living in rural communities from the county of Iasi, are disadvantaged in accessing the primary health services, with negative consequences on the health status.

Tracheomalacia in children and adults--not so rare as expected.
Tracheomalacia remains a special entity present also in children and adults. Tracheomalacia refers to a weakness of the trachea. Bronchoscopy is the "golden standard" for diagnosis. ⋯ Tracheomalacia could be progressive in some patients. We want to bring to your attention the tools for diagnosis and different methods of treatment. Tracheomalacia is not a rare disease and therefore we need to consider it.
