An ounce of prevention: using employment agreements to curb litigation costs.
This article is offered as food for thought in light of current Delaware case law. The reader is cautioned that the law varies by jurisdiction and that it evolves over time. ⋯ Rather, it discusses considerations which may be addressed with legal counsel in the course of drafting individualized employment agreements. Epiploic appendagitis occurs more commonly than previously thought and the clinical presentation can mimic other serious acute abdominal processes such as diverticulitis and appendicitis. Epiploic appendagitis can be confidently diagnosed via CT scan in nearly all cases. As a result of the accurate diagnosis unnecessary antibiotics, laboratory testing, dietary restrictions, surgical consultation, hospitalization, overtreatment, and unnecessary costs to the patient and health care system can be avoided. Patients with epiploic appendagitis can be conservatively managed as outpatients.

Case ReportsUnilateral papilledema: a case of optic neuritis diagnosed with bedside ocular sonography.
Optic neuritis is a demyelinating inflammatory condition that causes acute loss of vision, especially color vision, and eye pain. Magnetic resonance imaging and fundoscopy have traditionally aided the diagnosis of what largely remains a clinical diagnosis. We report a case of optic neuritis diagnosed in the emergency department with the aid of bedside ocular sonography. The pathophysiology, diagnosis and management of acute optic neuritis will be reviewed.
