Review[EEG-fMRI studies on the neural networks of the generalized spike and wave discharges: an overview].
This paper generalizes the seizures characterized with paroxysmal generalized spike and wave discharges (GSWDs) in the EEG. Recent studies showed that GSWDs disrupt specific neural networks only rather than the entire brain homogenously. Simultaneous EEG and functional MRI (EEG-fMRDI) provides a high spatiotemporal resolution method for uncovering the regions of the brain showing changes in metabolism and blood flow during epileptic activity. ⋯ The sub-network associated with different behavioral deficits between interical and ictal GSWDs, and the different subtypes of generalized seizures will be further studied. The functional connectivity of the nodes of the neural network of GSWDs can also be further investigated. A better understanding of the neural network responsible for GSWDs generation may help to develop new therapeutic interventions.

[Study on the haemostatic efficiency of composite bio-particles].
A porous composite particle (CP) was fabricated by the methods of emulsification and cross-link based on chitosan, alginate and collagen protein, and the tranexamic acid-loaded composite particles (TACP) was prepared by immersing the composite particle into the solution of tranexamic acid and by freeze drying. In the hepatic and splenic hemorrhage model of rabbits, CP and TACP were randomly used as haemostatic agents, and the Suxiaozhixuefen (Flashclot) was used as control. The corresponding hemostatic time and bleeding amount were observed respectively. ⋯ In the splenic bleeding model of rabbits, similar results were obtained with these three kinds of hemostatics. These results indicated that the CP based on chitosan, alginate and collagen protein displayed similar hemostatic efficiency to Flashclot. However, the TACP might be one of promising haemostatic powders due to its more excellent hemostatic efficiency.

[Regularized inhomogeneity correction method for phased array image in magnetic resonance imaging].
Phased array coils (multiple receiver coil systems) have been extensively used for acquisition of MR images owing to their ability of increasing SNR, extending field-of-view (FOV), and reducing acquisition time. But the SOS algorithm, which is main method for phased array image reconstruction, will cause inhomogeneity in reconstructed image. ⋯ By using the reference scan, coil sensitivity map can be acquired, and image reconstructed from reference scan can be used as reference data in the regulation term. Experiments showed that the image uniformity was greatly improved by this method with scanning phantom and volunteer.

[The classification and risk analysis of clinical claims for mechanical ventilator].
The risk analysis of clinical claims of mechanical ventilator can provide the useful information to the application of the availability and safety of mechanical ventilators. This paper classifies the clinical claims of two types of mechanical ventilations, and tries to find the distribution characteristics of the failure rate of the clinical claims by using the hazard analysis method. All of the distribution characteristics are related to the factors as ventilator design, environment human factors, etc. The method of risk analysis, combining with the classification of clinical claims, is useful for the clinical application and engineering services of mechanical ventilation.
