[Validation of the Ocular Surface Disease Index Questionnaire for Chilean patients].
Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI) is the most commonly used questionnaire worldwide to detect dry eye disease. Although it is massively used in clinical practice in Chile, its use has not been validated yet in the country. ⋯ The OSDI questionnaire version obtained in this study demonstrated excellent internal consistency values and adequate construct validity making it applicable to clinical practice and dry eye research.

Case Reports[Primary lymphocytic hypophysitis. Report of one case].
Primary lymphocytic hypophysitis is an autoimmune disease characterized by lymphocytic infiltration of the pituitary gland, with a higher incidence during late pregnancy and the postpartum period. It causes glandular destruction, mass effect and symptoms such headache, visual field defects, ophthalmoplegia and symptoms of hypopituitarism. We report a 38-year-old postpartum woman who, after giving birth presented decreased left visual acuity associated with a non ictal headache. ⋯ One month later, size of the pituitary gland decreased, and the visual field defect improved. Steroidal treatment was maintained for 36 months and progressively tapered. After two years of follow-up, the imaging studies show a normal sized pituitary gland.

[The influence of financial situation and friends' support on health self-perception of older adults].
The Chilean population is aging rapidly. This socio-demographic change imposes psychosocial and economic challenges that are relevant for the health care of older people. ⋯ The financial situation and friends' support (among women) are factors that should be considered in the evaluation of the health perception of older adults.

Mediation in healthcare is a non-adversarial process to resolve a dispute risen between patients and health providers during medical attention Aim: To characterize the mediation process taking place in the public health system in Chile, from its start until 2017. ⋯ The analysis of conducted mediations is a source of feedback for healthcare staff and health institutions. It would greatly contribute to prevent possible damage and medical conflicts, specially within the specialties with the most complaints. Improvements to the existing legislation are required to ensure free access for all the population.

[Physical activity and sedentary behaviors among people with cancer].
One of the side effects of cancer treatment is a low level of physical activity (PA) due to fatigue and pain. ⋯ People with cancer are less physically active than their counterparts without the disease.
