[Comparative performance of urinary creatinine excretion estimating equations].
24-hour urine collection accuracy is generally evaluated based on the values of urine creatinine (UCr) excretion, usually using ranges adjusted by weight. UCr excretion depends on several factors. Equations to estimate UCr in 24-hour collection (UCr/24h) that consider these factors have been developed. However, these formulas have not been evaluated in a sample of Latinamerican origin. ⋯ Walser, Ix and Huidobro equations had the best performance to estimate UCr/24h excretion in a population of latinamerican origin.

[Coaching for the treatment of obesity and overweight: a systematic review].
Coaching is increasingly used to treat obesity or overweight. We conducted a systematic review to explore the intervention's characteristics, effectivity, and quality of the published studies. The search was carried out on Pubmed, Scielo and Scopus databases. ⋯ They were delivered in both private and public contexts, with face-to-face or remote interventions and combined techniques, mainly from the United States (82%). The interventions showed a 51% effectiveness in reducing weight, increasing physical activity, and changing eating habits. We conclude that coaching might be an effective therapeutic strategy for obesity and overweight.

[Burnout syndrome in healthcare workers during COVID-19 pandemic].
Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) exposed health personnel worldwide to high stress levels, which increases the phenomenon of burnout. ⋯ A high incidence of burnout was observed in the surveyed population. Living with one or more children in the home stands out as a protective factor and working night shifts, having more than 6 years in the workplace, and maintaining a poor diet as risk factors.

[Chilean clinical guideline for the management of hidradenitis suppurativa - executive summary].
Hidradenitis suppurativa is a chronic inflammatory disease of the hair follicle characterized by recurrent painful and inflamed lesions, predominantly affecting intertriginous regions. Due to its physical sequelae and impact on quality of life, we should be familiarized with this disease to make an appropriate diagnosis and implement an early treatment. This executive summary of the clinical guideline, elaborated by the hidradenitis suppurativa workgroup of the Chilean Society of Dermatology and Venereology (SOCHIDERM), reviews its definition, epidemiology, pathophysiology, risk factors, comorbidities, psycho-emotional impact, clinical presentation, diagnosis, classifications, ultrasonographic evaluation, and its medical and surgical treatments. Finally, a therapeutic approach algorithm is proposed.

[Testosterone inhibits human wild-type and chimeric aldosterone synthase activity in vitro].
Familial hyperaldosteronism type I is caused by the generation of a chimeric aldosterone synthase enzyme (ASCE) which is regulated by ACTH instead of angiotensin II. We have reported that in vitro, the wild-type (ASWT) and chimeric aldosterone synthase (ASCE) enzymes are inhibited by progesterone and estradiol does not affect their activity. ⋯ The inhibitory effect of testosterone on ASWT or ASCE enzymes is a novel non-genomic testosterone action, suggesting that further clinical studies are needed to assess the role of testosterone in the screening and diagnosis of primary aldosteronism.
