[Perspective of primary care physicians on the management of dyslipidaemia in patients without atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease: a cross-sectional study].
Evidence suggests many dyslipidemic patients do not reach target low-density lipoprotein and cholesterol (LDL-C) levels in primary health care. ⋯ Although primary care physicians in our survey reported adherence to the 2019 ESC/EAS guidelines recommendations, our observations indicate they need to integrate them better into their clinical practice.

[Clinical features of blastic plasmacytoid dendritic neoplasm in Chile: report of 10 cases].
Blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasm (BPDCN) is a rare malignant tumor with a dismal prognosis, with isolated case reports in Chile. The BPDCN can present skin and bone marrow compromise, and its diagnosis is frequently confused with other pathologies. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical and immunophenotypical features of BPDCN in the Chilean population. ⋯ Our study found that BPDCN, a rare pathology in the Chilean population, shows a similar clinical presentation compared to previous studies. It is susceptible to respond to initial systemic and intrathecal chemotherapy.

[Closing the Treatment Gap: Implementing a Fracture Liaison Service in Public Healthcare A Case Study from Chile].
Osteoporotic fractures, especially of the hip and spine, entail significant morbidity and mortality, with a 50% increased risk of hip fracture following a prior fracture. Globally - and in Chile, a low rate of post-fracture osteoporosis treatment persists. The International Osteoporosis Foundation's "Capture the Fracture" initiative advocates optimal practices, including Fracture Liaison Services (FLS); however, in Chile, there are only two FLS, both in the private healthcare system. ⋯ Addressing fragility fractures as a public health issue is pertinent, and hospital authorities' acceptance of our project for implementation is highlighted. This initiative is anticipated to inspire other public health centers in Chile to implement similar services, contributing to closing the treatment gap and enhancing patients' quality of life.

[Saved myocardium in acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction post-reperfusion: Analysis by cardiac magnetic resonance].
To quantify by cardiovascular magnetic resonance the salvaged myocardium in the myocardium supplied by the infarct-related artery in reperfused and non-reperfused patients with a first ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). ⋯ The results of this study indicate the need to reassess the performance of coronary angioplasty and stent implantation in patients with a first STEMI, thrombolysis, and non-thrombolysis without prior myocardial viability studies. Cardiac magnetic resonance allows the quantification of salvaged myocardium and could be considered an emerging clinical application for the early evaluation of myocardial viability.
