The literature suggests that there is a high degree of co-occurrence between chronic pain and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). An association has been found between PTSD and substance abuse. PTSD is a severe disorder that should be taken into account when opioids are prescribed. It has been found that the prevalence of opioid use disorder (OUD) in chronic pain patients is higher among those with PTSD than those without this disorder. ⋯ Opioid analgesic prescription as the treatment of choice for CNCP patients should include screening for baseline PTSD to ensure that these drugs are safely consumed.

Urethral pressure profilometry in artificial urinary sphincter implantation: A case report.
Artificial urethral sphincter (AUS) implantation is currently the gold standard for treating moderate and severe urinary incontinence. Currently, cuffs are chosen based on the surgeon's experience, and adjusting cuff tightness is crucial. The T-DOC air-charged catheter has not been proven to be inferior to traditional catheters. We report how intraoperative urethral pressure profilometry is performed using a T-DOC air-charged catheter with ambulatory urodynamic equipment, to guide cuff selection and adjustment. ⋯ The relationship between intraoperative urethral pressure and urinary continence post-surgery can provide data for standardizing AUS implantation and evaluating efficacy.

Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in a young adult survivor with sequelae of childhood Kawasaki disease: A case report.
Kawasaki disease (KD) is an acute type of systemic vasculitis involving small to medium-sized muscular arteries and outbreaks during childhood. KD can cause myocardial ischemia, infarction, and sudden cardiac arrest. We present a case of a young adult survivor of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest as late KD sequelae. ⋯ Few patients who suffer a late sequela of KD can survive from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Medications, surgical intervention, and active follow-up are extremely important for this patient to prevent occurrence of adverse events in the future.

Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is recommended in patients with severe aortic stenosis who have high surgical risk. However, in the pre-existing mechanical mitral valve prosthesis and natural pure aortic regurgitation, TAVR is relatively contraindicated. In this report, we described one case of TAVR with native aortic regurgitation in the presence of mechanical mitral valve prosthesis. ⋯ TAVR for pure aortic regurgitation in the presence of prosthetic mitral valve can be a safe procedure.

De Winter syndrome and ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction can evolve into one another: Report of two cases.
The de Winter electrocardiography (ECG) pattern is a sign that implies proximal left anterior descending coronary artery occlusion in patients with chest pain. The previous view was that the de Winter ECG pattern is static. ⋯ The de Winter ECG pattern is transient and dynamic, and it reflects proximal or mid-LAD subtotal occlusion rather than total occlusion.
