[Health Promotion and Emergency Medical Care for All Age Groups Under Conditions of Climate Change].
Climate change impacts on the ecosystem services that people rely on, such as water, air, and agricultural products. The quality and quantity of various ecosystem services may be diminished under conditions of extreme climate change. Therefore, the effects of climate change may be expected to threaten people's health and survival. ⋯ Examples are provided to delineate the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual effects of climate change. The results of this literature review may provide community-based health promotion and emergency medical services guidance for further development and improvements. Healthcare professionals are expected to play a central role in managing the impact of climate change in order to achieve health for all.

Nurses in intensive care units (ICUs) must be capable of employing appropriate conflict handling styles in order to communicate with medical teams, patients, and patient family members effectively. There is a current lack of research on the interpersonal communication competence and conflict handling styles of ICU nursing staffs in Taiwan. ⋯ Future study of the views of ICU nurses toward their own styles in handling interpersonal conflicts is needed. Furthermore, holding training courses annually to orient ICU nurses with the advantages and disadvantages of interpersonal conflict handling styles is recommended.

The World Health Organization defines Smart Healthcare as "Information and Communication Technology applications in the medical and health fields, including medical care, disease management, public health monitoring, education, and research." In addition, many scholars believe that "Smart Healthcare" refers also to the integration of medical informatics, public health, and business applications mainly through the Internet and related artificial intelligence and data mining technologies in order to provide more accurate personal healthcare services and health information. The concept of deep learning has gained ground rapidly in recent years. ⋯ However, researchers have rarely used deep learning methods to predict outcomes in the medical and healthcare fields, preferring instead to make these predictions using algorithms based in traditional statistical methods and regression analysis. This paper introduces and investigates deep learning methods in the context of predicting outcomes in the medical and healthcare fields.

The sustainable development goals (SDGs), announced by the United Nations in 2016, now help guide public policy in many nations around the world. The United Nations has appealed to all governments and citizens worldwide to align together, taking action in each of the SDG dimensions of people, planet, prosperity, peace, and partnership in order to eradicate extreme poverty, inequality, and injustice; to slow / stop climate change; and to ensure sustainable development for humanity and the earth. ⋯ Therefore, this article introduces the content of the SDGs and the role of nurses in achieving each. In addition, we encourage nurses to exert their professionalism and compassion in realizing the pledge of the SDGs -- No one is left behind.
