To investigate the diagnostic performance and safety of endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration in patients presenting with radiological features of lung cancer. ⋯ Endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration is highly effective in determining the diagnosis and lymph node staging in patients with lung cancer. In combination with its excellent safety profile, it should be considered a frontline diagnostic test for patients presenting with mediastinal abnormalities suspicious of lung cancer.

To identify prognostic factors in children receiving continuous renal replacement therapy. ⋯ High PRISM III scores and the degree of pre-continuous renal replacement therapy fluid overload were independent predictors of mortality.

A 66-year-old woman presented to the emergency department after a witnessed cardiac arrest, having had compression-only cardiopulmonary resuscitation initiated by her son on the backseat of his car. She was resuscitated in the emergency department for 1 hour before the return of spontaneous circulation. ⋯ She was discharged without significant neurological deficit. This case illustrates better survival and neurological outcome can be achieved by prompt implementation of a 'chain of survival' interventions and therapeutic hypothermia.
