To determine the reliability and validity of a dedicated assessment tool for lateral epicondylitis after translation into Hong Kong Chinese. ⋯ The Hong Kong Chinese version of Patient-rated Forearm Evaluation Questionnaire is a reliable and valid assessment tool for chronic lateral epicondylitis. Its equivalence to the original English version makes outcome assessment across cultural barrier feasible.

Consensus statement on ischaemic stroke care in Hong Kong.
To issue guidelines for the care of acute stroke in Hong Kong, with the target audience of all health care professionals who are involved in acute stroke care. ⋯ Ischaemic stroke is a heavy health care burden to Hong Kong. The current consensus statement provides a framework to establish a multidisciplinary approach towards its acute management.

The safety, feasibility, and acceptability of patient-controlled sedation for colonoscopy: prospective study.
To assess the safety, feasibility, and acceptability of patient-controlled sedation for elective day-case colonoscopy, and the factors predicting patients' unwillingness to use patient-controlled sedation for colonoscopy. ⋯ . The use of patient-controlled sedation for elective colonoscopy is safe, feasible, and acceptable to most patients.

Misplacement of a right internal jugular vein haemodialysis catheter into the mediastinum.
A 69-year-old woman with end-stage renal failure discontinued continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis and commenced temporary haemodialysis because of resistant peritonitis. Right internal jugular vein haemodialysis catheter placement was performed. The cuffed, tunnelled haemodialysis catheter was inserted using the modified Seldinger technique. ⋯ Subsequent venography and computed tomography scan of the thorax showed that the catheter was placed extraluminally into the posterior mediastinum. The importance of a chest radiograph after placement of a central venous catheter is highlighted by this case report. Subtle deviations in catheter position from normal should alert the physician to the possibility of catheter misplacement and lead to further investigation.
