Comparative Study[Improvement in cryopreservation of blood platelets].
The first Russian solution Krimolit designed for cryopreservation of platelet concentrates down -196 degrees C was clinically tested. The therapeutical efficacy of the cryopreserved platelets was evaluated on the basis of clinical and laboratory monitoring of transfusions in 20 cancer hematological patients. ⋯ The introduction of cryopreserved platelets into clinical practice allows one to form stores and to transfuse autological cells. Krimolit is recommended for clinical application.

[The verification of the parameters of x-ray mammography apparatus as used in an office].
The authors verified whether on 07-492 digital kilovoltmeter can be used for controlling mammographic apparatuses and an 18-222 tissue-equivalent phantom (Victoreen) can be employed for mammography.

The paper presents kits of 5 original surgical instruments successfully used in (internal) osteosynthesis of the pelvis for various complex fractures and dislocations of its bones in different regions. Four instruments of them have no analogues. The design of each kit takes into account the specific features of the geometry and outlines of the pelvic ring.

Comparative Study[Status and prospects of the development of anesthesia-respiratory equipment].
Anesthesia-respiratory equipment (ARE) mainly including assisted ventilation apparatuses, inhalation anesthesia apparatuses, as well as the monitors employed in the use of these apparatuses are and will be the lead on the market of medical equipment in Russia. Therefore it is important to consider the immediate prospects of ARE development. ⋯ It refers to the most specific Russian and foreign items. The authors outline their own views of the immediate tasks of ARE design in Russia.

[The problems of guaranteeing the unity of measurements in medicine].
The paper discussed its today's status in medicine in terms of its requirements for accurate measurements and their metrological provision, as well as the possibilities of metrology to meet the requirements. The fact that in medicine there is a wide spectrum of urgent measuring tasks requiring priority metrological provision is illustrated by specific examples. ⋯ Mendeleev All-Russian Research Institute of Metrology as the chief center of state standards in solving some of these tasks. Particular attention is given to the provision of unity of measurements of physical values which are most widely medically used in diagnosis and treatment.
