ReviewRelationship between trauma-induced coagulopathy and progressive hemorrhagic injury in patients with traumatic brain injury.
Progressive hemorrhagic injury (PHI) can be divided into coagulopathy-related PHI and normal coagu- lation PHI. Coagulation disorders after traumatic brain injuries can be included in trauma-induced coagulopathy (TIC). ⋯ The main mechanism in the relation of TIC to PHI is hypocoagulability. We also reviewed some coagulopathy parameters and proposed some possible risk factors, predictors and therapies.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyClinical study of midazolam sequential with dexmedetomidine for agitated patients undergoing weaning to implement light sedation in intensive care unit.
To evaluate midazolam sequential with dexmedetomidine for agitated patients undergoing weaning to implement light sedation in ICU. ⋯ Midazolam sequential with dexmedetomidine can reach the goal of sedation for ICU agitated patients, meanwhile it can maintain the respiratory and circulation parameters and reduce adverse reactions.

Comparative StudyAre falls more common than road traffic accidents in pediatric trauma? Experience from a Level 1 trauma centre in New Delhi, India.
The epidemiology of pediatric trauma is different in different parts of the world. Some re- searchers suggest falls as the most common mechanism, whereas others report road traffic accidents (RTAs) as the most common cause. The aim of this study is to find out the leading cause of pediatric admissions in Trauma Surgery in New Delhi, India. ⋯ Pediatric trauma is becoming a cause of increasing concern, especially in the developing countries. The leading cause of admissions in Trauma Surgery is RTAs (43%) as compared to falls from height (27%); however, falls from height are showing an increasing trend as we move to younger age groups. Enhancing road safety alone may not be a lasting solution for prevention of pediatric trauma and local injury patterns must be taken into account when formulating policies to address this unique challenge.

Surgical factors contributing to nonunion in femoral shaft fracture following intramedullary nailing.
To explore the possible surgical factors related with nonunion in femoral shaft fracture following intramedullary nailing. ⋯ Nonunion in femoral shaft facture following interlocking intramedullary nailing is related to fracture site, fracture reduction and nail diameter. The choice of reamed nails or unreamed nails depends on the fracture site and reduction degree.

Acute coagulopathy of trauma-shock (ACoTS) occurs in 25% of patients with severe trauma in the early phase, and the mortality of those patients is four-fold higher than patients without coagulopathy. The pathophysiology of this complicated phenomenon has been focused on in recent years. ⋯ Supplementing coagulation factors and platelets to improve ACoTS are inefficient. Only positive resuscitation from shock and improving tissue hypoperfusion have expected benefits.
