Meta Analysis
[Effectiveness of manual therapy and traction for lumbar disc herniation: a meta-analysis].
To evaluate the effectiveness of manual therapy and traction for lumbar disc herniation and analyze the current status of this kind of randomized clinical trial (RCT). ⋯ The overall quality of the current RCT researches about manual therapy for lumbar disc herniation was lower, and did not support the conclusion that manual therapy was more effective than traction for lumbar disc herniation.

Bone marrow mesenchymal cells (BMSCs) are regarded as donor cells in cell transplantation therapies for spinal cord injury (SCI) for they have the ability of favourable proliferation and multi-directional differentiation, and are easily isolated and culturd and have less immunological reaction. It has been confirmed that subarachnoid space injection is the most ideal delivery technique of BMSCs. Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells transplantation is safe and its reconditioning role is certain for SCI in early clinical application. The mechanism of BMSCs promoting functional recovery after SCI is probably concerned with vicarious function, nerve trophism, immunosuppression and promoting axonal regeneration by BMSCs.

To explore the clinical effects of total vertebral column resection combined with anterior mesh cage support in treating severe congenital kyphoscoliosis. ⋯ Total vertebral column resection combined with anterior mesh cage support can effectively correct kyphosis and scoliosis in severe congenital kyphoscoliosis and can avoid injury of spine cord by spinal crispation, but intraoperative position and neurologic complications should still be considered.

To explore the clinical outcomes of percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) and percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP) in treating osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture (OVCF). ⋯ Both the methods can obviously relieve pain and completely or partly recover daily life function in treating OVCF. But PKP has advantages of recovery of anterior height of responsibility vertebra and correction of Cobb angle, especially for serious compression.
