Clinical Trial Controlled Clinical Trial[Botulinum A in the treatment of equinus dynamic spasticity in children with cerebral palsy. Preliminary study].
The purpose of this clinical prospective study is to better assess the efficacy of intramuscular injections of botulinum-A toxin in the treatment of spastic dynamic equinus deformities in children with cerebral palsy. ⋯ The intramuscular injection of botulinum-A toxin in spastic dynamic equinus deformities in children with cerebral palsy is an useful treatment modality, but the indications have to be respected scrupulously. The subject needs more study with the higher dosage and clinical evaluation to confirm the possible increased endurance.

[Prognostic factors during rehabilitation after shoulder prostheses for fracture].
To evaluate the role, the difficulties of rehabilitation and to diagnose the eventual surgical complications after shoulder prosthesis for 4-part fractures. ⋯ The age and poor general condition of the patients as well as the difficulty of the surgical technique more than the rehabilitation, explain the disappointing results observed after shoulder prosthesis for four-part fractures. The discrepancy between active and passive elevation suggests that limited motion is not caused by a stiff shoulder because of glenohumeral scarring but instead by weakness of the deltoid (because of axillary lesion) and/or of the external rotators (because of greater tuberosity migration). There is some discordance between the necessity to early mobilise the shoulder and the high rate of tuberosity migration.

Case Reports[Pott's disease paraplegia in children. Mechanics and therapeutic strategies. Six cases].
We report a series of 6 Pott's disease paraplegias treated between 1982 and 1996. ⋯ Prognosis of Pott's disease is good but at the present time, paraplegia remains too frequent. Adapted treatment must be performed without delay.

Comparative Study[Temporary external fixation in the correction of non articular mal-unions of the distal radius].
The authors reviewed 21 cases of extra articular malunions of the distal radius treated by osteotomy, temporary external fixation, then osteosynthesis. Two groups were studied: Group A of 14 patients with dorsal tilt of the distal radius and Group B of 7 patients with palmar tilt of the distal radius. Mean follow-up of this series was 69 months ranged from 12 to 109 months. ⋯ The authors would like to stress two points: The technical interest of using a temporary external fixator to adjust the angular correction of the distal radius. The importance of an adequate treatment of distal radius fractures in emergency situation, considering the functional and cosmetic alterations due to malunions and their need for surgical corrections in main instances.

[The results after 10-16 years of the treatment of chronic anterior laxity of the knee using reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament with a patellar tendon graft combined with an external extra-articular reconstruction].
The aim of this prospective study was to evaluate the objective postoperative laxity and functional results with a minimum follow-up of 10 years (mean 11.7 +/- 2 years) in chronic anterior knee instability treated by ACL reconstruction associated to a lateral extra-articular plasty. ⋯ This documented study on laxity of the two compartments confirms the interest of each type of reconstruction, in particular extra-articular plasty when made with quadriceps tendon and so doing, preserving the iliotibial-band for the control of varus stability.
