[Treatment of spinal fractures complicating ankylosing spondylitis].
To study the treatment of spinal fractures in ankylosing spondylitis. ⋯ Spinal fractures in ankylosing spondylitis are associated with a high rate of neurological injury. Shearing fracture usually occurs at the lower cervical spine (C(5 - 7)) and stress fracture at thoracolumbar spine. Most of the fractures involve three columns of spine. Surgical intervention may be indicated in this injury. Fracture union and neurological improvement can be achieved in most patients treated by operation. We suggest that, fusion and stabilization with instrumentation by anterior approach is indicated in most cervical shearing fracture, and a combined fusion by both sides plus a long posterior instrument is probably beneficial in patients with thoracolumbar stress fracture. Complications is not rare after surgery and appropriate preventive measures are necessary for these patients.

[Pulmonary artery perfusion with hypothermic solution inhibits the apoptosis of lung parenchymal cells during cardiopulmonary bypass].
To study effects of pulmonary artery perfusion with hypothermic solution on the apoptosis of lung parenchymal cells during cardiopulmonary bypass. ⋯ Pulmonary artery perfusion with hypothermic solution can inhibit the apoptosis of lung parenchymal cells and relieve cardiopulmonary bypass-induced lung injury.

To investigate the way of sacral tumors surgical treatment. ⋯ Complete resection of tumor (radical surgery when possible) is the most effective way to manage sacral tumors. Postoperative adjuvant radiation therapy can reduce the tumor recurrence rate, but it also can cause troubles that would hinder further surgical managements. Even if the tumor is relatively huge and the upper resection margin is as high as at S(1) or S(2) level, the tumor can be removed successfully by posterior approach and the postoperative complications could be accepted. To the patients with aneurysmal cyst or giant cell tumor on sacrum, for control bleeding purpose, anterior approach should be performed to ligate the bilateral internal iliac artery.

[Fluid management and cause of death during shock period in patients with severe burns or burns complicated by inhalation injury].
To explore fluid management and cause of death during shock period in severe burns or burns with inhalation injury. ⋯ Many fluid formula can provide guidance for resuscitation and it is very important that early fluid therapy should accord with concrete clinical conditions of patients in order to pass smoothly through shock period. Early fluid management is not different between burns and burns with inhalation injury.

[The regulation mechanisms of MMP-1,2 and TIMP-1,2 on wound healing after partial thickness scald].
To observe the changes of matrix metalloproteinase-1,2/tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1,2 (MMP-1,2 and TIMP-1,2) in granulation tissue after 30% TBSA deeper partial thickness scald, and explore the regulation mechanism of MMP-2/TIMP-2 during wound healing. ⋯ The expression of MMP-1,2 and TIMP-1,2 has closely relation protein kinases activated signaling pathways. The expression changes of MMP-1 and TIMP-1/TIMP-2 depend on c-fos expression. Oncogenes play an important role in the change process of wound matrix degradation and remodeling.
