[Early mortality and complications of abdominal aortic aneurysm repair: analysis of 186 cases].
To study the early mortality and major complications of infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repair. ⋯ Multiple system organ failure is the leading cause of early mortality of AAA repair. Cardiac and pulmonary complications are commonly seen after AAA repair. Preoperative cardiac, pulmonary condition, age and surgical aspects greatly influence the early mortality and major complications.

[Influence of different treatment modalities on survival of patients with two -stage resection of unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma].
To study the therapeutic results of hepatic resection for shrunk hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) and hepatic artery ligation and chemoembolization (HALCE) in patients with unresectable HCC, and compare the influence of the above different treatment modalities on the prognosis. ⋯ Sequential resection should be done after cytoreduction of tumor for the patients with unresectable HCC, which might improve their survival. The extent of cirrhotic liver and the percentage of tumor necrosis after TACE or HALCE are the major factors affecting the survival of patients with two-stage operation.

[Anterior interbody autografting and internal fixation for primary surgical management of thoracolumbar spinal tuberculosis].
To verify the importance of early reconstruction of spinal stability and to evaluate the safety of anterior instrumentation in surgical management of spinal tuberculosis. ⋯ Early reconstruction of spinal stability plays an important role in surgical management of spinal tuberculosis, and it is safe to implant anterior titanium spinal instrument in tuberculosis foci.

[Influence of solid thoracolumbar kyphosis on lumbar spine and surgical treatment].
To investigate the influence of solid thoracolumbar kyphosis on the lumbar spine and surgical treatment. ⋯ Kyphosis of the thoracolumbar spine may result in over lordosis of the lumbar spine and retrolisthesis of vertebrae, which are obvious in the upper lumbar spine. These changes may lead to back pain. Correction of kyphosis of the thoracolumbar spine may obviously decrease over lordosis of the lumbar spine and inclination of vertebral slip, and may further decrease the overload to the posterior column of the spine and relieve back pain. Osteotomy combined with anterior and posterior procedures is effective and safe in the correction of kyphosis of the thoracolumbar spine.
