[Experience of transportation of mass severe burn patients for long distance by air ambulance with fixed wing].
Objective: To explore the experience of transportation of mass severe burn patients for long distance by air ambulance with fixed wing. Methods: The organization and implementation process of transportation of 5 patients in the devastating forest fire of Greater Khingan on 2nd, May 2017, for long distance by air ambulance with fixed wing were reviewed and analyzed. All the patients were severely burned and complicated with inhalation injury. ⋯ All the patients were in stable condition during the transportation and had successful subsequent rescue. All the patients were discharged in three months. Conclusions: It is feasible to transfer mass severe burn patients for long distance by air ambulance with fixed wing, and it is safer and more effective to transfer according to the standardization process, and the opportunity of transportation of severe burn patients can be moved up to shock stage.

[Analysis on treatment of extremely severe burn patients with severe inhalation injury in August 2nd Kunshan factory aluminum dust explosion accident].
Objective: To summarize the measures and experience in diagnosis and treatment of extremely severe burn patients with severe inhalation injury in dust explosion accident. Methods: The medical records of 13 patients with extremely severe burn complicated with severe inhalation injury in August 2nd Kunshan factory aluminum dust explosion accident who were treated at the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University (hereinafter referred to as our hospital) on August 2nd, 2014, were retrospectively analyzed. All the patients were transferred to our hospital 3-8 hours after injury under the condition of inhalation of pure oxygen. ⋯ One patient died 19 days after injury, and 4 patients died 33-46 days after injury. The main cause of death was multiple organ dysfunction syndrome induced by severe septic shock eventually. Conclusions: For this batch of patients with extremely severe burn complicated with severe inhalation injury caused by dust explosion accident, the treatment and cure measures including early definite diagnosis and timely tracheotomy, the application of effective ventilation, the effective treatment of respiratory system complications, and rational use of antibiotics for the control of lung infection obtained quite good curative effect.

[Current status of acceptance of disability and hope level in burn patients and the correlation].
Objective: To investigate current status of acceptance of disability and hope level in burn patients and the correlation. Methods: Totally 216 hospitalized burn patients conforming to the study criteria were admitted to Department of Burns of Fujian Medical University Union Hospital from September 2016 to May 2017. Self-made General Information Questionnaire, Acceptance of Disability Scale-Revised and Herth Hope Index score were adopted to investigate condition of acceptance of disability and hope level of burn patients with different general information and to record the score, score of acceptance of disability and the dimensions, score of hope level and the dimensions of 216 patients. ⋯ Among 3 dimensions of hope level, dimension of keeping close relationship with other people had the highest score [(10.8±2.6) points], and it was followed by dimension of taking positive action [(10.6±2.5) points], and dimension of positive attitude to reality and future had the lowest score [(9.9±3.1) points]. (4) There were significantly positive correlations between scores of acceptance of disability and its dimensions and hope level and its dimensions of patients (with r values from 0.522 to 0.884, P<0.01). Conclusions: Burn patients with different general information have different scores of acceptance of disability and hope level. Acceptance of disability and hope level of patients with burns need to be improved, and there is significantly positive correlation between acceptance of disability and hope level.

[Mechanism of lung injury of rats induced by inhalation of white smoke from burning smoke pot].
Objective: To explore mechanism of lung injury of rats induced by inhalation of white smoke from burning smoke pot. Methods: Forty-eight Sprague Dawley rats were divided into control group (n=12) and injury group (n=36) according to the random number table. Rats in injury group were placed in smoke-induced injury experimental equipment fulled with white smoke from burning smoke pot for 5 minutes to make lung injury, and rats in control group were placed in smoke-induced injury experimental equipment fulled with air for 5 minutes to make sham injury. ⋯ At PIH 24, content of TNF-α and IL-1β in lung tissue of rats in injury group was higher than that of rats in the same group at PIH 6 and 72, respectively (t=3.409, -2.549, 4.047, -4.100, P<0.05). At PIH 24 and 72, content of IL-6 in lung tissue of rats in injury group was respectively higher than that of rats in the same group at PIH 6 (t=8.273, 9.711, P<0.05). Conclusions: After inhaling white smoke from burning smoke pot, rats are inflicted with lung injury by increasing expression of NF-κB p65 mRNA and content of TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6, and induce pathological changes of edema, hemorrhage, and inflammatory cell infiltration of lung tissue.

[Management of analgesia and sedation in critically burned adult patients].
Analgesia and sedation play important roles in the overall treatment of critically burned adult patients. According to clinical actual situation of critically burned adult patients, a set of analgesic and sedative practices, including analgesia-based sedation, scientifically reasonable sedation status monitoring, early goal-directed sedation strategy, standardized and individualized strategy for analgesia and sedation, and early comfort using analgesia, minimal sedative, maximal human care strategy are recommended and widely implemented nowadays. However, guideline or consensus about how to provide analgesia and sedation treatment for critically burned adult patients is lacking. In this article, we discuss strategy for analgesic and sedative management in critically burned adult patients, with preexisting ideas in critical care medicine, pathophysiological characteristics of critically burned patients, and our clinical practice for reference.
