Chondrosarcoma is the second most common primary malignancy of bone after osteosarcoma. Cranial primary chondrosarcomas mostly originate from the skull base cartilage formation zones. Parasagittal falcine origin is very rare for primary extra-skeletal intracranial chondrosarcomas. ⋯ Three more local recurrences occurred in 9 months' time since the index surgery, which were all managed with re-surgeries and/or adjuvant stereotactic radiosurgeries. This is the second case of myxoid type parasagittal chondrosarcoma but with the most protracted disease course. Even though surgery remains the mainstay of treatment for parasagittal chondrosarcomas, adjuvant therapy might be necessary in aggressive ones.

The aim of this study is to define the role and effectiveness for an endoscopic third ventriculostomy (ETV) in patients with seconder normal pressure hydrocephalus(SNPH), idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (INPH) and symptomatic longstanding overt ventriculomegaly (SLOVA). ⋯ In properly selected patients with SNPH, SLOVA and INPH who had headache, slight gait disturbance and pollakiuria, mainly those with a short duration of symptoms, ETV may provide good results.

To evaluate possible roles for indocyanine green (ICG)-based FLOW 800 software in surgical treatment of cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVMs). ⋯ ICG FLOW 800 software helps the surgeon to recognize feeding and draining vessels of an AVM intraoperatively. Further studies to evaluate semi-quantitative acquired data regarding blood flow and tissue perfusion are warranted.

This review aimed to summarize the clinical outcomes in relation to tumor resection margins of cervical chordomas. ⋯ En bloc resection cervical chordomas are associated with less recurrence and no metastasis compared to intralesional resection. En bloc is possible through wide exposure of the vertebrae via a multidisciplinary team approach and utilization of particular surgical equipment. The higher rate of complications associated with en bloc surgeries may be acceptable, particularly when there is a chance of cure of disease.

Endovascular neurosurgery is known to be associated with potentially serious perioperative complications that can impact the course and outcome of anesthesia. We present here our institutional experience in the anesthetic management of various endovascular neurosurgical procedures and their related complications over a 10-year period. ⋯ Awareness of the unique challenges of endovascular neurosurgery and prompt and appropriate management of the associated complications by an experienced neuroanesthesiologist is vital to the outcome of these procedures.
