[Role of P38 signaling pathway in neonatal rat astrocyte swelling and aquaporin-4 expression after oxygen-glucose deprivation and recovery].
To explore the role of P38 signaling pathway in neonatal rat astrocyte swelling and the expression of aquaporin-4 (AQP4) after oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD) and recovery (OGD/R). ⋯ P38 signaling pathway participates in astrocyte swelling after OGD/R, and blocking this pathway can attenuate AQP4 up-regulation and ameliorate the cell swelling.

Comparative Study[Comparison of two methods for establishing rat models of complex regional pain syndrome type 1].
To investigate the difference between two methods for establishing rat models of complex regional pain syndrome type 1. ⋯ The two methods can both be effective to simulate complex regional pain syndrome type 1, but tibia fracture results in more sustained symptoms and pathological changes in the microcirculation.

Case Reports[Surgical treatment of DeBakey type II aortic dissection combined with true aneurysm in the distal aortic arch: a case report].
DeBakey type II aortic dissection combined with true aneurysm in the distal aortic arch is a very rare condition, and due to the complicated pathology, its surgical intervention can be difficult and risky. We report a case with this pathology in a 23-year-old man, who received a previous open heart surgery for ventricular septal defect at the age of 6 years. ⋯ Cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) including deep hypothermic circulatory arrest with selective antegrade cerebral perfusion was used. No postoperative complications occurred, and the follow-up examination at 6 months after the operation showed good therapeutic results.

Case Reports[Adefovir dipivoxil-induced Fanconi syndrome and hypophosphatemic osteomalacia associated with muscular weakness in a patient with chronic hepatitis B].
Adefovir dipivoxil is commonly used for treatment of chronic hepatitis B. The renal toxicity of adefovir dipivoxil is dose- and time-related, occurring often in patients with a daily dose over 30 mg and those with impaired renal function. We report a case of chronic hepatitis B with a history of taking adefovir dipivoxil at 10 mg/day for 4 years. ⋯ A diagnosis of acquired Fanconi syndrome and hypophosphatemia osteomalacia associated with progressive muscular weakness was made eventually. We reviewed the literature and found reports of only fewer than 10 similar cases. Clinical attention should be given to kidney damage induced by adefovir dipivoxil.

Comparative Study[Live three-dimensional and two-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography for evaluating functional anatomy of mitral regurgitation: a comparative study].
To compare the accuracy of live three-dimensional (Live-3D-TEE) and two-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography (2D-TEE) in the evaluation of functional anatomy of mitral regurgitation. METHDOS: Thirty-eight consecutive patients with severe mitral regurgitation were enrolled prospectively. The accuracy of Live-3D-TEE and 2D-TEE for functional assessment of mitral regurgitation was evaluated against surgical findings. ⋯ Both Live-3D-TEE and 2D-TEE allow accurate assessment of the etiology of mitral regurgitation, but Live-3D-TEE can be more accurate in the evaluation of the lesions of the mitral valve and their localization.
