Randomized Controlled Trial[Remifentanil preconditioning lowers cardiac troponin I levels in patients undergoing off-pump coronary artery bypass graft surgery].
To investigate the value of cardiac troponin I (cTnI) levels in assessing myocardial protection by remifentanil precondition against myocardial injury induced by off-pump coronary artery bypass (OPCAB). ⋯ Remifentanil preconditioning decreases the cTnI levels and reduces myocardial injury induced by OPCAB.

[Effect of MAPK signal transduction pathway inhibitor U0126 on aquaporin 4 expression in alveolar type II cells in rats with oleic acid-induced acute lung injury].
To investigate the relationship between aquaporin 4 (AQP4) in alveolar type II (AT-II) cells and MAPK signaling pathway in rats with early-stage oleic acid-induced acute lung injury (ALI) and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). ⋯ Oleic acid-induced ALI results in the activation of MAPK signaling pathway and up-regulation of AQP-4 mRNA expression in the ATII cells of rats.

Randomized Controlled Trial[Epidural butorphanol analgesia in elderly patients undergoing hip replacement].
To evaluate the efficacy and safety of continuous epidural analgesia (CEA) with butorphanol in elderly patients undergoing hip replacement. ⋯ CEA with butorphanol is safe and effective for the treatment of postoperative pain in elderly patients and causes less adverse effects than morphine.

[Human leucocyte antigen-DR expression on CD(14)(+) monocytes and its relationships with multiple organ dysfunction syndrome in severe sepsis].
To explore the changes of CD(14)(+) monocyte human leucocyte antigen DR (HLA-DR) and their relationship with multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) in severe sepsis. ⋯ In patients with severe sepsis, persistent low CD(14)(+) monocyte HLA-DR levels predicts high mortality. The levels of HLA-DR are significantly correlated to the severity of organ dysfunction.

Randomized Controlled Trial[Effect of nutritional support on immune function in patients with severe pulmonary infection after renal transplantation].
To study the effect of parenteral plus enteral nutrition (PN+EN) and total parenteral nutrition (TPN) support on the postoperative immune function in renal recipients with severe pulmonary infection. ⋯ PN+EN can better improve the immune function than TPN in renal recipients with severe pulmonary infection.
