Randomized Controlled Trial[Effect of extracts from rabbit skin inflamed by vaccinia virus in the management of postherpetic neuralgia and on serum interleukin-6 level in aged patients].
To observe the effect of the extracts from rabbit skin inflamed by vaccinia virus for injection, a commercially available agent (Analgecine), in the treatment of postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) in aged patients and its influence on serum interleukin-6 (IL-6) level. ⋯ The extracts from rabbit skin inflamed by vaccinia virus have definite effects for rapid pain relief, and can effectively decrease the serum IL-6 level in elderly patients with PHN.

Randomized Controlled Trial[Early goal-directed therapy lowers the incidence, severity and mortality of multiple organ dysfunction syndrome].
To investigate the effect of early goal-directed therapy (EGDT) on the incidence, severity and mortality of multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS). ⋯ EGDT can decrease the incidence and severity of MODS, and can effectively decrease the mortality of MODS irrespective of the presence of severe sepsis.

Randomized Controlled Trial[Effect of postoperative analgesia with flurbiprofen axetil and sufentanyl on metabolism of surgical patients with intestinal carcinoma].
T To evaluate the effect of postoperative analgesia with flurbiprofen axetil combined with sufentanyl in modulating the metabolism of patients undergoing operations for intestinal carcinoma. ⋯ Postoperative analgesia with flurbiprofen axetil and sufentanyl or with sufentanyl alone produces similar postoperative analgesic effect in patients undergoing operation for intestinal carcinoma, but the former protocol offers better interventional effect on protein catabolism and promotes nitrogen balance.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study[Comparison of target controlled propofol infusion and sevoflurane inhalational anesthesia in laparoscopic cholecystectomy].
To compare the effects of propofol target controlled infusion (TCI) and sevoflurane inhalational anesthesia on the hemodynamics and postoperative recovery in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy. ⋯ Propofol TCI and sevoflurane inhalational anesthesia are all effective in inducing good anesthetic effect, maintaining hemodynamic stability and ensuring rapid recovery, but propofol TCI causes lower incidence of PONV in operations such as laparoscopic cholecystectomy.

[Changes of work of breathing in patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease during non-invasive positive pressure ventilation].
To investigate the effect of non-invasive positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV) on the work of breathing (WOB) in patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). ⋯ NIPPV can relieve the load of the inspiratory muscles in patients with acute exacerbation of COPD, and the WOB of the inspiratory muscles can be reduced by PSV, H-PEEP and H-PS (by 75%, 71% and 76%, respectively), but higher PSV during NIPPV can cause higher WOB of the exspiratory muscles.
