Comparative Study
[Comparison of 2 methods of qualitative bacteriological urinalysis].
Two techniques of the quantitative bacteriological urinalysis were compared. Hundred seventy eight samples of the urine were analysed with routine technique and paper strip test "Mast Bacteriuritest". Hundred percent conformity of both techniques was obtained in case of insignificant bacteriuria. ⋯ Significant bacteriuria was diagnosed in the samples in which Gould's test was positive with routine technique in 22% and with paper test in 18% of the analysed samples. It seems that paper test is valuable quantitative technique of the urinalysis because of its simplicity and low cost. It should be used, however, for the detection of the significant bacteriuria.

Blood serum quinidine sulphate and propranolol levels have been measured in patients with cardiac arrhythmias treated simultaneously with mexiletine, flecainide, encainide and tocainide. It was found that mexiletine and encainide increase quinidine sulphate serum concentrations. Propranolol serum concentrations have been increased by mexiletine, encainide flecainide, and tocainide. Flecainide ant tocainide have not changed quinidine sulphate serum concentrations.

Comparative Study
[Sequelae of injuries of thoracic vertebrae with spinal cord trauma in persons under the influence of alcohol].
An analysis of 416 patients treated at the Department of Rehabilitation for the trauma to thoracic spine is presented. Analysed group included 178 patients who underwent trauma being drunk. ⋯ Mortality rate is also lower in this group comparing to this in the group of patients being drunk during the accident. Statistical analysis of these date suggests high degree of the probability of interdependence of therapeutical results and sobriety of the victims.
