Case Reports[Features of eosinophilic pneumonia course in the outpatient setting].
Simple eosinophilic pneumonia (Luffler's syndrome) is combination of "volatile" infiltrates, independently passing during one month and detecting only in chest organs roentgenography; often pass symptomless. There is a mild eosinophilia in the blood. ⋯ The special feature of this clinical case is a combination some symptoms of all kinds of eosinophilic pneumonia. Review[The role of respiratory infection in exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease].
Periods of acute deterioration known as exacerbations significantly lower the quality of life and health status of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), thus making treatment of these patients more expensive. Understanding of the pathogenesis of COPD exacerbations and their influence on the clinical course and prognosis of this disease has greatly improved during the last decades. Some aspects of the interrelation between the infectious pathogen and the host organism have been studied. ⋯ Besides, colonization correlates with the severity of the disease. A "vicious circle" theory has been put forward to explain the pathogenesis of COPD exacerbations. Etiological diagnostics of a COPD exacerbation will allow adequate choice of effective etiotropic therapy making it possible to eradicate the pathogen or lower microbial load in the respiratory tract, which will decrease the risk of recurrence and improve the prognosis of the disease.

Review[Polymyalgia rheumatica and giant-cell temporal arteritis].
The article is dedicated to the contemporary concept of the prevalence, etiology, and pathogenesis of polymyalgia rheumatica and Horton's disease. The author analyzes the features of the pain syndrome, arthritis, fever, and other manifestations of the disease. ⋯ Polymyalgia rheumatica is treated with prednisolone. The stages of glucocorticoid therapy, the rules of adjustment and lowering prednisolone doses, combined therapy with glucocorticoids and cytostatics, the effectiveness of therapy, and the prognoses are described in detail.
