[Medical emergency care and patient contact at the Quart Rock Festival in Norway].
The annual Quart Rock Festival (1991-2007) was the largest rock festival in Norway. During festivals in 2004-06, a daily average of 3 000 personnel, guests and artists, and 10,000 visitors, 13,000 people, were present daily. The festival had a medical care organization recruited from primary care personnel. The team consisted of one general practitioner, one physiotherapist, two nurses from the municipality outpatient service, and lay personnel trained in first aid. ⋯ The results are similar to those in studies of rock festivals in other countries. The need for referrals was equal to or lower than in other studies. This indicates that the primary care-based medical organization at the Quart Festival was adequate.

Comparative Study[Is there an association between psychological stress and request for caesarian section?].
Caesarean section rates have increased in Norway, as in the rest of the western world since the beginning of the 1970s, and further explanations are needed to understand this development. The study aimed to examine whether demographic or psychological burdens differed among women who feared childbirth, according to whether or not they requested caesarean section. ⋯ The women who feared childbirth generally had a larger burden of psychosocial and psychiatric problems than others, and those who requested a caesarean delivery had most. Charting and processing these burdens is presumably of significance for the birth outcome.

[Variable prescription of opioids to cancer patients in Norway].
We examined prescription of the opioids used most often in cancer pain relief in the Norwegian counties, doctors' use of the law section concerning reimbursement of medicine to incurable far advanced cancer patients, and the prescription of analgesics with codein to this patient group. ⋯ Prescription of strong opioids varies substantially in Norway's counties. Doctors' knowledge, attitude, geographical and cultural differences may be some reasons for this. Knowledge about and use of the law section concerning reimbursement is probably not good enough. Increased awareness of how to treat cancer pain is important go give a good treatment offer to all in Norway.
