Comparative Study[New facilities in management of complex regional pain upper limb syndrome with thoracoscopic sympathectomy].
26 patients (21 females and 5 males, aged from 40 to 70 years) with complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) who underwent thoracic sympathectomy at the Th3-4 level on the damaged side, were examined 1,5-2 months since trauma. After an operation all patients showed pain management, improvement of motor and trophic functions, positive dynamics of laser Doppler flowmetry and computer thermography. The given method was demonstrated to be effective and mostly successful at the early stages of CRPS.

Comparative Study[Topical issues of children's pulmonology in Russia].
Recent data illustrating the situation in children's pulmonology in this country are presented. Its main features are the high prevalence of acute and chronic lung diseases in children and the enhanced frequency of allergic pulmonary disorders, in the first place bronchial asthma. ⋯ Also important are their further in-depth studies. Training of specialists in children's pulmonoloy in conformity with the relevant international standards is considered to be a priority area of activity.

[Louse-borne typhus potential and new technologies in prediction of epidemic louse-borne typhus outburst].
Features of louse-borne typhus in Russia in the middle of 20th century are considered. Study of the infection source, blood serum in patient after epidemic louse-borne typhus (ELBT) and agent (louse) was performed on territory with high morbidity of pediculosis and ELBT in the years of 2nd world war. ⋯ Priority data of lice morphology based on morphometrical data of lice, collected in Russia and world collection in Berlin are shown. Methods of ELBT prediction are given, special attention is paid to development of mathematic prognostic models based on new technologies.

[The evolution of antihypertensive pharmacotherapy in Great Patriotic War veterans].
The subjects of the study were 1500 Great Patriotic War veterans, examined in 2000, and 1545 ones, examined in 2005. In each of these groups, 856 (79.3% and 77.8%, respectively) subjects had arterial hypertension. The authors analyze substantial modifications in out-patient antihypertensive therapy of this category of patients which have taken place in the last five years.
