On January 4 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) reported the emergence of a cluster of pneumonia cases in Wuhan, China due to a new coronavirus, the SARS-CoV-2. A few weeks later, hospitals had to put in place a series of drastic measures to deal with the massive influx of suspected COVID-19 (COronaroVIrus Disease) patients while securing regular patient care, in particular in the intensive care units (ICU). Since March 12th, 77 of the 685 COVID-19 patients admitted to our hospital required hospitalization in the ICU. ⋯ Indeed, integrated into a steering committee created to organize the crisis in the intensive care units, the role of the clinical pharmacist was focused on the organization and coordination between ICU and the pharmacy, the implementation of actions to secure practices, to train new professionals and the adaptation of therapeutic strategies. He participated to literature monitoring and increased his involvement in the clinical research team. He provided a link between the ICU and the pharmacy thanks to his knowledges of practices and needs.

Many signs point to the growing importance of drug shortages in Canada and around the world. Although drug shortages affect clinicians and patients every day, there is a paucity of literature describing the specific problems experienced and their clinical consequences. To describe the drug shortage situation in Canada in 2016-2017 and to discuss this issue in the Canadian context. ⋯ This descriptive study highlights the high number of shortages in Canada in 2016-2017. The new federal regulation requiring declaration of drug shortages should lead to better monitoring of this problem at the national level. Although the causes of shortages are often identified, manufacturers and regulators are frequently unable to address or effectively prevent drug shortages.

Cardio-oncology is a new discipline that focuses on understanding, detection, monitoring and treating cardiovascular disease during and after cancer treatment. The development of this emerging field is based on an interdisciplinary collaboration between cardiology and oncology researchers and clinicians. Cardio-oncology aims at identifying how cancer therapies impact cardiovascular homeostasis, particular risk factors, diagnostic biomarkers and novel therapeutic approaches to help to effectively detect, prevent and cure the cardiotoxicity.

Comparative Study
A cross-sectional comparison between the perception of physicians and pharmacists concerning the role of the pharmacist in physician training.
This study aimed to identify and compare physician-pharmacist perceptions concerning drug teaching to physicians by pharmacists in Swiss hospital settings. ⋯ Improved resources and planning are needed to meet physicians' expectations. Training is often carried out implicitly, through activities with various other aims, and needs to be better defined and formalized collaboratively.

Phenylephrine, ephedrine and norepinephrine are the vasopressors most commonly used in the operating room to treat anaesthesia-induced hypotension. Two new diluted forms of phenylephrine were released in 2011 (500μg/10mL and 500μg/5mL). We initiated a study to evaluate trends in the use of vasopressors in the operating room in French hospitals over the period 2011-2014. ⋯ The use of diluted phenylephrine has exponentially increased without reducing consumption of other vasopressors. This trend might be secondary to practice changes in hypotension treatment following the release of French guidelines in 2013 related to fluid management, the restriction of indications of hydroxylethyl-starch solutions in 2013, and a better knowledge of the benefit of blood pressure optimisation to reduce postoperative morbidity.
