Comparative Study[Man-made environmental air pollution and children's health].
Ambient air pollution and morbidity were studied by the visits of children under 7 years to a doctor. A total of 950 children living in the areas that are notable for the level and pattern of ambient air pollution were examined. ⋯ Ambient air chlorinated and aromatic hydrocarbons may cause a high incidence of biliary and hepatic diseases and chlorinated hydrocarbons in children. Equations have been derived to predict childhood morbidity due to the level and pattern of air pollution.

Comparative Study[Radio-ecological and hygienic assessment of consequences of forest fires in the areas polluted during the Chernobyl accident].
Retransfer of radionuclides on the condensation trails of Chernobyl radioactive fallouts during forest fires has been experimentally evaluated and their mathematical transfer model verified. It has been shown that radionuclide retransfer will make no great impact on additional pollution of an area even under the most unfavourable conditions. The contribution of convective and non-convective components of transfer to the formation of a radioactive aerosol concentration field has been assessed. Time course of changes in the concentration of radioactive aerosol and its dispersive composition are shown in different phases of fire and at different distance from its source.

Comparative Study[Main factors of occupational risk for railway workers].
The paper shows the specific features of development of occupational diseases associated with the classes of working conditions by the degree of hazard and risk. It provides a scientifically founded evidence for that the indicators of a potential risk of working conditions should be included into the methodology of assessment of a professional risk.
