C1-C3 Lateral Mass Screw-Rod Fixation and Fusion for C2 Pathologies and Hangman's Fractures.
Retrospective clinical study. ⋯ Although the number of cases was very small with a relatively short follow up period, C1 and C3 lateral mass screw-rod fixation followed by fusion showed promise as an effective and biomechanically sound way for the treatment of properly selected Hangman's fracture cases, and may also be suitable in other axial pathologies.

Comparison of Vertebroplasty, Kyphoplasty, and Nonsurgical Management of Vertebral Compression Fractures and Impact on US Healthcare Resource Utilization.
Retrospective propensity score-matched cohort analysis of the Thomson Reuters MarketScan database. ⋯ Our data suggests that the treatment of a VCF patient will likely be associated with similar long-term operative and complication rates regardless of treatment modality.

Comparison of two methods of epidural steroid injection in the treatment of recurrent lumbar disc herniation.
Prospective study. ⋯ In the current study, the caudal and transforaminal steroid injection methods showed similar outcomes in the treatment of relapsed lumbar disc herniation. However, more detailed patient categorizing may help in finding possible subgroups with differences.

Characteristics of sagittal spino-pelvic alignment in Japanese young adults.
Radiological analysis of normal patterns of sagittal alignment of the spine. ⋯ Japanese young adults apparently have smaller PI and LLA values than Caucasian people. When making decisions for optimal sagittal spinal alignment, racial differences should be considered.

New modified english and hindi oswestry disability index in low back pain patients treated conservatively in Indian population.
Prospective cohort study along with questionnaire. ⋯ The new modified ODI is time saving and accurate, and it avoids the need to measure other scores and has stronger correlation with VAS score compared to the previous scores. We recommend this version for both English and Hindi speaking population as an assessment tool to measure the disability related to pain.
