Retrospective clinical study on the indirect decompressive effect of oblique lateral interbody fusion (OLIF) for adult spinal deformity. ⋯ The effect of indirect neural decompression in adult spinal deformity with OLIF varies with the degree of preoperative lumbar lordosis.

Severe C8 or T1 Symptoms after Cervical Laminoplasty and Related Factors: Are Tere Any Differences between C3-C6 Laminoplasty and C3-C7 Laminoplasty?
Retrospective study. ⋯ The incidence of C8 or T1 symptoms in C3-C6 LP was higher than that in C3-C7 LP. C8 or T1 symptoms would be caused by the posterior fila radicularia and spinal cord impingement on the intact lower end of the lamina.

Learning Curve for Robot-Assisted Percutaneous Pedicle Screw Placement in Thoracolumbar Surgery.
Retrospective review of an initial cohort of consecutive patients undergoing robot-assisted pedicle screw placement. ⋯ We found that robot-assisted screw placement had high accuracy, low placement time, low fluoroscopy time, and a low complication rate. However, there were no significant differences in these parameters at the initial experience and the practiced, experience placement (after approximately 1 year), indicating that robot-assisted pedicle screw placement has a very short (almost no) learning curve.

Stand-Alone Cervical Cages in 2-Level Anterior Interbody Fusion in Cervical Spondylotic Myelopathy: Results from a Minimum 2-Year Follow-up.
A retrospective review of patients who underwent 2-level anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) with standalone polyetheretherketone (PEEK) cages for cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM). ⋯ The use of a stand-alone PEEK cage in a 2-level cervical interbody fusion achieves satisfactory improvements in both clinical outcomes and fusion.
