Impact of Dissection after Drug-Coated Balloon Treatment of De Novo Coronary Lesions: Angiographic and Clinical Outcomes.
Dissection after plain balloon angioplasty is required to achieve adequate luminal area; however, it is associated with a high risk of vascular events. This study aimed to examine the relationship between non-flow limiting coronary dissections and subsequent lumen loss and long-term clinical outcomes following successful drug-coated balloon (DCB) treatment of de novo coronary lesions. ⋯ The presence of a dissection following successful DCB treatment of a de novo coronary lesion may not be associated with an increased risk of LLL or TVF (Impact of Drug-coated Balloon Treatment in de Novo Coronary Lesion; NCT04619277).

Long-Term Aspirin Use and 5-Year Survival in Healthy Adults: A Population-Based Cohort Study in South Korea.
We investigated whether long-term aspirin use is associated with 5-year all-cause mortality. ⋯ Long-term aspirin use is associated with reduced 5-year all-cause mortality in healthy adults, especially those aged <60 years.

Peripheral Neuropathy in de novo Patients with Parkinson's Disease.
This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of peripheral neuropathy (PNP) and its related serum metabolites in de novo patients with Parkinson's disease (PD). PNP is a type of frequent comorbidity in PD. Although the administration of levodopa has been described as a presumptive risk factor in its development, few studies have explored its effect on unmedicated PD patients. ⋯ Our data demonstrated a potential role of Hcy and UA on PNP in de novo patients with PD. These results suggest the contribution of the inherent metabolic pathway in deterioration of the peripheral nervous system in PD.

Robot-Assisted Laparoscopic Myomectomy versus Abdominal Myomectomy for Large Myomas Sized over 10 cm or Weighing 250 g.
Here, we compared the operative and perioperative outcomes between robot-assisted laparoscopic myomectomy (RALM) and abdominal myomectomy (AM) in patients with large (>10 cm) or heavy myomas (>250 g). ⋯ RALM is a feasible myomectomy technique even for large or heavy myomas. RALM patients tend to have shorter hospital stays and fewer postoperative fevers within 48 hours. However, RALM has longer total operating time.

Case ReportsThe First Korean Family with Hemoglobin-M Milwaukee-2 Leading to Hereditary Methemoglobinemia.
Hemoglobin M (HbM) is a group of abnormal hemoglobin variants that form methemoglobin, which leads to cyanosis and hemolytic anemia. HbM-Milwaukee-2 is a rare variant caused by the point mutation CAC>TAC on codon 93 of the hemoglobin subunit beta (HBB) gene, resulting in the replacement of histidine by tyrosine. We here report the first Korean family with HbM-Milwaukee-2, whose diagnosis was confirmed by gene sequencing. A high index of suspicion for this rare Hb variant is necessary in a patient presenting with cyanosis since childhood, along with methemoglobinemia and a family history of cyanosis.
