Clinical Features of Delirium among Patients in the Intensive Care Unit According to Motor Subtype Classification: A Retrospective Longitudinal Study.
Delirium in the intensive care unit (ICU) poses a significant safety and socioeconomic burden to patients and caregivers. However, invasive interventions for managing delirium have severe drawbacks. To reduce unnecessary interventions during ICU hospitalization, we aimed to investigate the features of delirium among ICU patients according to the occurrence of hypoactive symptoms, which are not expected to require invasive intervention. ⋯ Managing and predicting delirium patients based on whether patients experienced non-hypoactive delirium may be clinically important. Variables obtained during the initial 48 hours can be used to determine which patients are likely to require invasive interventions.

Randomized Controlled TrialCombination of Fractional Microneedling Radiofrequency and Ablative Fractional Laser versus Ablative Fractional Laser Alone for Acne and Acne Scars.
Fractional microneedle radiofrequency (FMR) systems are used to treat inflammatory acne and scarring. Nonetheless, few controlled studies have combined this treatment with the traditional ablative fractional laser (AFL). We aimed to assess the safety and efficacy of the combination of FMR and AFL versus AFL alone in treating acne and acne scars. ⋯ FMR combined with AFL is a well-tolerated and effective treatment modality for inflammatory acne and acne scarring.

A Comparative Study of a Sternum-Sparing Procedure and Clamshell Incision in Bilateral Lung Transplantation.
Clamshell incision offers excellent exposure and access to the pleural spaces and is a standard incision for lung transplantation. However, due to its high sternal complication rate, the clamshell incision is considered a procedure that requires improvement. In this study, we aimed to investigate the outcomes of transverse sternotomy with clamshell incision in comparison to sternum-sparing bilateral anterolateral thoracotomy (BAT). ⋯ Less-invasive lung transplantation via sternum-sparing BAT is a safe procedure with low morbidity and favorable outcomes. Preventing sternal instability enables more stable breathing after surgery, earlier weaning from mechanical ventilation, and faster recovery to routine activities.

18F-FDG PET/CT Parameters Enhance MRI Radiomics for Predicting Human Papilloma Virus Status in Oropharyngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma.
Predicting human papillomavirus (HPV) status is critical in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) radiomics. In this study, we developed a model for HPV status prediction using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) radiomics and 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) parameters in patients with OPSCC. ⋯ When combined with an MRI radiomics model, 18F-FDG PET/CT exhibits incremental value in predicting HPV status in patients with OPSCC.

Nusinersen for Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type I with Chronic Respiratory Failure: A Retrospective Study in South Korea.
To analyze the efficacy and safety of nusinersen in patients with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) type I with chronic respiratory failure. ⋯ Nusinersen is safe and effective in patients with SMA type I, even those with chronic respiratory failure and those on permanent ventilation. No significant adverse effects of nusinersen were observed.
