NUP210 and MicroRNA-22 Modulate Fas to Elicit HeLa Cell Cycle Arrest.
Cervical cancer is one of the most fatal diseases among women in under-developed countries. To improve cervical cancer treatment, discovery of new targets is needed. In this study, we investigated the expression of NUP210, miR-22, and Fas in cervical cancer tissues and their functions in cell cycle regulation. ⋯ miR-22 in cervical cancer is downregulated, resulting in NUP210 overexpression and inhibition of Fas-induced cell apoptosis.

Posterior Correction of Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis with High-Density Pedicle Screw-Only Constructs: 5 Years of Follow-Up.
This study aimed to analyze radiological outcomes in patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) who underwent posterior correction with high-density pedicle screw-only constructs. We hypothesized that high-density pedicle screw-only constructs in AIS would provide a high correction rate and would facilitate the maintenance of the correction or obviate the loss thereof. ⋯ We obtained excellent correction rates of 48.3% for PT, 83.1% for MT, and 80.2% for TL/L curves using high-density pedicle screw-only constructs in AIS, with no significant loss of correction at final follow-up.

ReviewRisk Factors Associated with Endometrial Pathology in Premenopausal Breast Cancer Patients Treated with Tamoxifen.
To evaluate factors associated with endometrial pathology during tamoxifen use in premenopausal breast cancer (BC) patients. ⋯ In premenopausal BC patients treated with tamoxifen, abnormal uterine bleeding, increased endometrial thickness, and chemotherapy for BC were associated with the occurrence of endometrial cancer. These findings may provide useful information for gynecologic surveillance and counseling during tamoxifen treatment in premenopausal BC patients.

A Single-Center, Retrospective Study of Bevacizumab-Containing Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy followed by Interval Debulking Surgery for Ovarian Cancer.
We evaluated whether adding bevacizumab to current platinum-based chemotherapy could improve clinical outcomes without affecting safety. ⋯ Bevacizumab-containing NAC might be safe and provide longer PFS than chemotherapy alone in patients with advanced ovarian cancer. However, further study is necessary to investigate the impact of bevacizumab-containing NAC on OS.

Yonsei Criteria, a Potential Linkage to Intratumoral Foxp3⁺/CD8⁺ Ratio for the Prediction of Oncologic Outcomes in Resected Left-Sided Pancreatic Cancer.
This study sought to investigate associations among Yonsei criteria (tumor confined to the pancreas, intact fascia layer between the distal pancreas and the left adrenal gland and kidney, and tumor located more than 1-2 cm from the celiac axis) and tumor infiltrating lymphocytes in pancreatic cancer. ⋯ Yonsei criteria may be clinically detectable biologic marker with which to predict immunologic status and survival in pancreatic cancer patients.
