Refractive Errors, Retinal Findings, and Genotype of Tuberous Sclerosis Complex: A Retrospective Cohort Study.
To examine the refractive errors, retinal manifestations, and genotype in tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) patients in a Korean population. ⋯ TSC1 variant patients were more myopic, while TSC2 variant patients showed association with more extensive involvement of retinal astrocytic hamartoma.

Risk Factors for Surgery in Patients with Intestinal Behçet's Disease During Anti-Tumor Necrosis Factor-Alpha Therapy.
Behçet's disease (BD) is a chronic inflammatory immune-mediated disease involving multiorgan systems. Gastrointestinal (GI) manifestations of BD include abdominal pain, vomiting, GI bleeding, fistula formation, obstruction, and perforation that might require surgery. Recently, anti-tumor necrosis factor-alpha (anti-TNF-α) therapy has been shown to have favorable outcomes in patients with intestinal BD who are refractory to conventional therapy. This study sought to figure out the risk factors for undergoing surgery during anti-TNF-α therapy in patients with intestinal BD. ⋯ We found five risk factors predictive of surgery in patients with intestinal BD receiving anti-TNF-α therapy, which can guide physicians in selecting appropriate patients between anti-TNF-α therapy and early surgery.

Case ReportsGiant Coronary Artery Aneurysm with Thrombosis Complicated in a Patient with Idiopathic Hypereosinophilic Syndrome.
Idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome (iHES) is a rare systemic disease that is characterized by persistent peripheral eosinophilia (absolute eosinophil count ≥1500/uL) for more than 6 months, with end-organ damage and absence of a primary cause for eosinophilia. Coronary artery aneurysm (CAA) is a rare but life-threatening complication. Here, we report a case of CAA with thrombosis in a patient with iHES in whom the disease activity was well-controlled (eosinophil count <500/uL) for several years. Despite modest control of the disease activity, giant CAA can be associated with iHES; and therefore, close surveillance and monitoring for the development of complications is warranted.

Effectiveness of Adding Docetaxel to Androgen Deprivation Therapy for Metastatic Hormone-Sensitive Prostate Cancer in Korean Real-World Practice.
Evidence in favor of adding docetaxel in treatment of metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC) has led to docetaxel in conjunction with androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) as standard therapy. The aim of this study was to examine the effectiveness of docetaxel with ADT for Korean patients with mHSPC in real-world practice. ⋯ The effect of docetaxel combined with ADT for Korean patients with mHSPC is comparable with prior results in Western studies.

Clinical Outcomes of Endoscope-Assisted Pulmonary Endarterectomy for Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension.
Pulmonary thromboembolism is a potentially life-threatening condition in patients with heart disease; however, limited studies discussing long-term outcomes exist. This study aimed to investigate the long-term outcomes of pulmonary endarterectomy (PEA) in patients with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH), focusing on the improvement of functional class and right ventricular (RV) pressure. ⋯ Mortality rates are low and patients experience a marked improvement in NYHA class and health status after PEA. Moreover, MPA involvement may affect functional outcomes.
