Lung Ultrasound is Comparable with Chest Roentgenogram for Diagnosis of Community-Acquired Pneumonia in Hospitalised Children.
To evaluate the accuracy of lung ultrasound (LUS) in comparison to chest roentgenogram (CXR) in hospitalised children with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP). ⋯ LUS can be considered to be used first before radiography in children with suspected CAP. This will reduce the exposure of radiation.

Heated Humidified High-Flow Nasal Cannula for Prevention of Extubation Failure in Preterm Infants.
To compare extubation failure rate between the heated humidified high-flow nasal cannula (HHHFNC) and continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) groups. ⋯ In the index study, the extubation failure rate was not statistically different between infants who were on HHHFNC or CPAP support.

The increasing prevalence of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) makes early recognition, evaluation and management an important task for pediatricians, physicians and other professionals caring for children. Educational interventions form the mainstay of management for children with autism spectrum disorder. Such interventions focus on improving social interaction, communication and challenging behaviors, thereby promoting learning and independence in children. ⋯ In addition, evidence-based principles for effective intervention are highlighted. In developing countries like India, access to interventions is a challenge and resources are limited. In such settings, the pediatrician's or physician's role is vital in supporting families choose programs that are evidence-based, target individual needs and result in improved outcomes.

To examine the rate of unplanned extubation (UE) after the introduction of NeoBar (endotracheal tube stabilization device) compared to the previous tapping method and to analyze the factors associated with UE in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). ⋯ Use of NeoBar as endotracheal tube securing device was associated with similar UE rates compared to taping method. Large prospective studies are required to assess whether NeoBar reduces the UE rate.
