Since December 2019, there has been an outbreak of novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) infection in China. Two cases of neonates with positive 2019-nCoV tests have been reported. ⋯ In neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), to prevent and control infection, there should be practical measures to ensure the optimal management of children potentially to be infected. According to the latest 2019-nCoV national management plan and the actual situation, the Chinese Neonatal 2019-nCoV expert working Group has put forward measures on the prevention and control of neonatal 2019-nCoV infection.

Ex vivo lung perfusion (EVLP) has developed as the most effective technique for estimating marginal donor lungs. This study attempted to extend the EVLP running time to 12 hours with a dialyzer rather than periodically replacing the perfusate. ⋯ Using the modified method of EVLP reduces the high cost caused by exchanging perfusion fluid per hour and could prolong the normothermic preservation time of donor lungs.

Atlantoaxial dislocation could be caused by odontoid fractures or Os odontoideum. The previous surgical techniques in treatment of atlantoaxial dislocation were based on arch remove decompression or anterior atlantoaxial release and atlantoaxial (occipital-cervical) screw fixation-based reduction and fusion. However, for some clinical situations, all of above techniques cannot be applied. ⋯ We design a novel anterior decompression through transoral axis slide and rotation osteotomy for salvage of this failed posterior occipitocervical fusion case. The C2 body and odontoid process was ventrally slide and rotation at good position after operation as well as the position of plate and screws, the spinal canal was increased significantly after operation too. We suggest this anterior decompression through transoral "C2 slide and rotation" technique is good choice for salvage of failed posterior occipitocervical fusion and some irreducible atlantoaxial dislocation because of the anterior bony fusion, it could direct decompress the spinal cord anteriorly, avoid the odontoid resection, and is feasible and safe technique.

There are emerging observational studies (OSs) to assess real-world comparative effectiveness and safety of direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) in cancer associated thrombosis (CAT). We conducted a pooled and interaction analysis to compare the treatment effect estimates of DOACs between OSs and randomized controlled trials (RCTs). ⋯ In this study, effectiveness and safety of DOACs versus conventional anticoagulants in CAT from OSs are in agreement with those from RCTs, confirming a low risk of recurrent VTE and similar risk of major bleeding in CAT patients receiving DOACs.

Assess the respiratory-related parameters associated with subsequent severe acute kidney injury in mechanically ventilated patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). ⋯ Crs and PEEP are the only respiratory-related variables with a direct causal association in severe AKI. No mechanical ventilator or blood gas parameter mediated the effects of Crs. Approaches reducing Vt and/or ΔP in ARDS can have limited effect on renal protection.
