Multicenter Study[Prognostic factors of survival in post-cardiopulmonary-cerebral resuscitation in general hospital].
To assess clinical and demographic characteristics of patients who had cardiopulmonary resuscitation and identify short- and long-term survival prognostic factors. ⋯ Data may help healthcare professionals decide when start or stop in-hospital resuscitation.

Comparative Study[Weaning from mechanical ventilation by using pressure support or T-tube ventilation. Comparison between patients with and without heart disease].
To assess cardiorespiratory variables during weaning from mechanical ventilation by using the T-tube and pressure support techniques, and to compare them in groups of patients with and without heart disease. ⋯ When comparing pressure support ventilation with T-tube ventilation, a better response was observed in the measurements of the respiratory and oxygenation parameters when using pressure support ventilation. No significant difference was observed in the measurements of cardiovascular parameters. In both weaning techniques, patients with heart disease had tachycardia less frequently, more alterations in the ST segment, and a greater tendency towards the occurrence of arrhythmias.

[Prospective study of early and late morbidity and mortality in the abdominal aortic aneurysm surgical repair].
To prospectively assess early and late morbidity and mortality of patients undergoing elective surgical repair of abdominal infrarenal aortic aneurysms and to determine the independent predictors of cardiac events. ⋯ Although this is considered a highly complex surgery, mortality is low, the cardiac complications are not very significant, and the patients have a good long-term evolution.

The reduction in hospital stay and costs in the care of patients with congenital heart diseases undergoing fast-track cardiac surgery.
To assess the care provided to patients with congenital heart diseases and ischemic heart diseases undergoing cardiac surgery according to the fast-track recovery protocol compared with those undergoing the conventional procedure. ⋯ A reduction in the length of hospital stay and costs for the care of patients undergoing cardiac surgery according to the fast-track protocol was observed.
