Case Reports[Skin carcinoma arising from scar (a report of 6 cases)].
In the past 20 years, we had seen 6 patients of carcinoma arising from scar, accounting for 0.78% (6/765) of all inpatients with scars and 17% (6/35) of all skin carcinoma patients. The causes were thermal burn, radiation burn and trauma. In 2 cases of radiation burn, one was irradiated for the treatment of hairy legs with 60Co. ⋯ If the carcinoma can be diagnosed and treated early, the prognosis is favorable. The principle of operation is wide excision of the lesion. In some cases amputation is a safe but radical surgery.

[Application of pedicled thin skin flap in electric contact burn].
Eight cases with deep injuries as a result of electric contact burn were repaired with 8 pedicled thin skin flap successfully. The area of pedicled thin skin flap was from 6cm x 4cm to 12cm x 3cm. ⋯ The cosmetic and functional results were all satisfactory. The operative method is described, and the mechanism of skin flap survival is discussed.

Comparative Study[Effect of burn injury, blast injury and combined burn-blast injury on immune reactions of thymocytes and splenocytes in rats].
Rats were inflicted with burn (15% TBSA full-thickness) by flash thermal radiation, blast injury in shock tube (over pressure 429.3 +/- 11.5 kPa) and both of them, respectively. The dynamic changes of several cellular immune reactions of thymocytes and splenocytes were observed. ⋯ The combined effects were more serious than that of the sum of two single injuries, and the combined injury recovered more slowly than the other two. Therefore, an aggravated effect was observed in combined injury in this experiment.

[Early coverage of deep partial-thickness burn wound with porcine dermal collagen membrane. An experimental study].
Collagen was extracted by pepsin digestion from porcine skin and collagen membrane was prepared by salt precipitation. Collagen membrane as a wound dressing was evaluated in a deep partial-thickness burn wounds in a rat model. ⋯ Open wounds exhibited a re-epithelialization of 24% of wound area. Collagen membrane dressing significantly improved the healing rate to approximately 70% of wound area.

[Clinical study on main visceral damage and multiple organ failure (MOF) following severe burns].
A prospective study was carried out on 57 patients with total burned surface area (TBSA) over 30%. It was found that myocardial damage occurred early postburn, which was one of the major causes of cardiac dysfunction and failure. ⋯ The etiology of each pattern varied. The imbalance between thromboxane and prostacyclin in plasma and visceral tissues played important roles in the genesis and development of postburn MOF as well as the causes of pathophysiological alterations in the main factors (including inhalation injury, severe shock and systemic infection) which contributed to occurrence of visceral damage and MOF.
