[Assessment of the predictive value of the model for end-stage liver disease scoring system combined with the indocyanine green clearance test for short-term prognosis of acute-on-chronic hepatitis B liver failure].
To investigate the short-term prognostic value of the indocyanine green clearance test when used in combination with the model for end-stage liver disease (MELD) scoring system to assess patients with hepatitis B virus acute-on-chronic liver failure (HBV-ACLF). ⋯ ICGR15, MELD score, and MELD-Na score had higher predictive values for HBV-ACLF than did CTP classification or KCH criteria. Furthermore, the MELD-ICGR15 model was better than any single parameter model for predicting the short-term prognosis of patients with HBV-ACLF.

[Relationship between normal serum uric acid levels and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in postmenopausal women].
To analyze the relationship between normal serum uric acid (SUA) levels and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) among postmenopausal women, and determine the possible risk factors of NAFLD in this patient population. ⋯ SUA levels were independently correlated with NAFLD in Chinese postmenopausal women. SUA levels in the higher quartiles of the normal range may be an independent risk factor of NAFLD.

Meta Analysis[Meta-analysis of branched chain amino acid-enriched nutrition to improve hepatic function in patients undergoing hepatic operation].
To perform a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) assessing the benefit of providing branched chain amino acid (BCAA)-enriched nutrition to improve hepatic function in patients undergoing hepatic operation. ⋯ BCAA-enriched nutrition improves hepatic function in patients undergoing hepatic operation, thereby helping to reduce the complication risk, duration of hospital stay, and financial burden. BCAA-enriched nutrition is a safe and effective therapy and further clinical application may be beneficial.

[Non-invasive assessment of portal hypertension in patients with liver cirrhosis using FibroScan transient elastography].
To investigate the clinical value of FibroScan transient elastography for assessing portal hypertension in liver cirrhosis patients by determining the relationship between the liver or spleen stiffness measurement with the imaging parameters of esophageal varices, portal vein width, spleen volume, and splenic vein width. ⋯ FibroScan appears to be a clinically valuable non-invasive method to assess portal hypertension in cirrhotic patients. Both liver and spleen stiffness measurements correlated with portal hypertension but the spleen stiffness measurement may be of higher clinical value.

Randomized Controlled Trial[Combined immunoprophylaxis induces changes in anti-hepatitis B surface protein titer in infants born to mothers with positivity for hepatitis B surface antigen].
To conduct a prospective randomized controlled trial of infants born to hepatitis B virus (HBV) surface antigen (HBsAg)-positive mothers in order to investigate the dynamic changes in the titer of anti-HBV surface protein (HBS) induced by treatment with combined immunoprophylaxis (200 IU hepatitis B immunoglobulin (HBIG) and 5 or 10 mug yeast recombinant hepatitis B vaccine), to compare the protective effect of 5 and 10 mug hepatitis B vaccine, and to provide an immunization strategy, monitoring mode and booster immunization schedule for the high-risk group. ⋯ Combined immunoprophylaxis is therapeutically efficacious for treating infants born to HBsAg positive mothers. Monitoring these infants' anti-HBs titer will help to identify non- or low-responders in a timely manner. The high-dose hepatitis B vaccine is preferable to the low-dose, and should be considered for use in immunization strategies for these infants.
