[Effect of antiviral treatment on expression of programmed death 1 and programmed death ligand 1 on peripheral T lymphocytes in patients with chronic hepatitis C].
To evaluate the changes in programmed death 1 (PD-1) and programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression on peripheral blood T lymphocytes of patients with chronic hepatitis C (CHC) over the 24 weeks course of antiviral therapy. ⋯ The standard Peg-IFNa-2a + RBV combination antiviral therapy reduces PD-1 expression on CD4+ and CD8+ T lymphocytes and increases PD-L1 expression on CD8+ T lymphocytes in peripheral blood. The clinical outcome of CHC patients may be related to the antiviral therapy-induced changes in expressions of PD-1 and PD-L1 on T lymphocytes.

[Epidemiological and clinical features of occult hepatitis B in HIV infection without antiretroviral treatment].
To investigate and analyze the differential prevalence, as well as the risk factors and clinical features, of occult hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-infected population without antiretroviral therapy (ART) as compared to the general (non-HIV-infected) population. ⋯ HIV-infected individuals who are ART naive and HBsAg(-) have a higher incidence of HBV DNA-positivity than individuals in the general (non-HIV-infected) population. In addition, the highest rate of occult hepatitis B among the HIV-infected cases occurred among individuals who were anti-HBc(+)/anti-HBs(-).

[Efficacy of radiofrequency ablation to treat advanced hepatocellular carcinoma].
To retrospectively investigate the feasibility of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) in treating advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) using standard ultrasound-guided percutaneous RFA. ⋯ RFA treatment of patients with advanced HCC, tumors less than 7.0 cm, and without thrombosis in the main vessels was efficacious. The RFA treatment strategy and subsequent liver protection therapy in RFA may improve survival.
