Multicenter Study Comparative StudyLong-term outcomes following mini-crush versus culotte stenting for the treatment of unprotected left main disease: Insights from the milan and New-Tokyo (MITO) registry.
This study aimed to investigate the long-term outcomes following mini-crush versus culotte stenting with drug-eluting stents (DES) for the treatment of unprotected left main coronary artery (LMCA) disease. ⋯ The incidence of MACE and overall TLR were comparable between groups. However, the rates of MI and definite ST were significantly higher in the culotte group. Full stent coverage of the LMCA may reduce the incidence of MACE when a two-stent strategy is used for the treatment of unprotected LMCA disease. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

Long-term prognostic value of risk scores after drug-eluting stent implantation for unprotected left main coronary artery: A pooled analysis of the ISAR-LEFT-MAIN and ISAR-LEFT-MAIN 2 randomized clinical trials.
To evaluate the long-term prognostic value of risk scores in the setting of drug-eluting stent (DES) implantation for uLMCA. ⋯ In patients undergoing DES implantation for uLMCA disease, all evaluated risk scores were able to stratify the mortality risk at long-term follow-up. EuroSCORE was the only risk score that significantly improved the discriminatory power of a multivariable model to predict long-term mortality. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection: Angiographic Follow-Up and Long-Term Clinical Outcome in a Predominantly Medically Treated Population.
We sought to assess the angiographic and long-term clinical outcomes in a predominantly medically treated population with spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD). ⋯ In general, the long-term outcome of patients with SCAD is excellent, and medical therapy can be safely applied in the majority of patients. However, SCAD can be a life-threatening and sometimes catastrophic event, and some patients experience early or late complications including SCAD of another vessel. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

Case ReportsMechanical thrombectomy using the Solitaire stent in a left main coronary artery: A novel approach to coronary thrombus retrieval.
The Solitaire stent is a self-expanding nitinol, fully retrievable stent that was originally designed for applications in cerebral circulation. Expanded indications for its use in mechanical embolectomy during acute ischemic stroke have proven safe and effective. Herein, we describe a novel use of this stent to perform a mechanical thrombectomy of a large left main coronary artery thrombus. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

Randomized Controlled TrialDeterminants of operator and patient radiation exposure during cardiac catheterization: Insights from the RadiCure (RADIation reduction during cardiac catheterization using real-timE monitoring) trial.
In the RadiCure study 505 catheterization procedures were 1:1 randomized to use or no use of real-time radiation monitoring. Use of the Bleeper Sv monitor resulted in a significant reduction in operator radiation exposure. ⋯ Several clinical and procedural factors are associated with higher patient and operator radiation exposure. Real-time radiation monitoring and use of disposable radiation shields were associated with lower operator, but not patient, radiation dose. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
