Case ReportsSevere aortic valve regurgitation after percutaneous ventricular septal defect closure.
Percutaneous closure of ventricular septal defect is now commonly used. We report a rare case, and especially a rare image of aortic leaflet damage caused by percutaneous ventricular septal device.

Case ReportsMitral valvuloplasty with the Inoue balloon tracked over an arteriovenous wire.
Mitral stenosis is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Percutaneous balloon mitral valvuloplasty is a standard treatment option for severe mitral stenosis, and in some patients may be the only feasible option. ⋯ The transeptal antegrade approach using the Inoue Balloon system may be associated with difficulty and rarely with failure to cross the stenotic mitral valve. We report a case of initial Inoue balloon failure to cross followed by successful Inoue mitral valvuloplasty tracked over an arteriovenous wire loop.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyEarly statin treatment prior to primary PCI for acute myocardial infarction: REPERATOR, a randomized placebo-controlled pilot trial.
The aim of this pilot study was to determine whether early atorvastatin treatment will reduce left ventricle (LV) remodeling, infarct size, and improve microvascular perfusion. ⋯ In this pilot study, pretreatment with atorvastatin in an acute myocardial infarction does not result in an improved cardiac function, microvascular perfusion, or decreased myocardial infarct size.
