Neutrophil Gelatinase-associated Lipocalin Significantly Correlates with Ischemic Damage in Patients Undergoing Laparoscopic Partial Nephrectomy
Laparoscopic partial nephrectomy, which minimizes renal function loss due to its nephron sparing nature, has become a standard technique among many experienced centers worldwide for surgical treatment of localized kidney tumors. Although partial nephrectomy will remain the gold standard, we need to improve perioperative management and surgical method to prevent postoperative acute kidney injury. ⋯ The neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin may be used as an alternative biomarker to serum creatinine in differentiation of ischemic damage in patients undergoing laparoscopic partial nephrectomy.

Validation of the “Mind the Gap” Scale to Assess Satisfaction with Health Care among Adolescents
At present, more than 90% of adolescents with chronic conditions survive into adulthood as health care users and move pediatric to adult care with their chronic illness. Therefore, the need satisfaction scale focuses specifically on transitional care and reflect the increasing expectations among youth and their parents. ⋯ The Turkish version of the Mind the Gap scale is a valid and reliable scale for evaluating the needs, expectations, and satisfaction of adolescents and their parents in terms of health care.

Current Practice in Obstetric Anesthesia and Analgesia in Public Hospitals of Greece: A 2016 National Survey
This descriptive survey was to evaluate the use of regional anesthesia in obstetrics in Greek public hospitals. ⋯ Regional anesthesia is the most common practice for cesareans in Greek public hospitals; however, the percentage of general anesthesia remains high. In addition, the use of labor epidural analgesia is limited in hospitals outside Athens.

Dysmenorrhea is one of the most common acute pain disorders among women of reproductive age. ⋯ Dexketotoprofen has a better visual analogue scale score that is not clinically relevant compared to paracetamol.

Randomized Controlled TrialEffects of Intradermal Sterile Water Injections in Women with Low Back Pain in Labor: A Randomized, Controlled, Clinical Trial.
In addition to the pain caused byuterine contractions during labour, continuous and severe back pain is observed in 33% of women. Several pharmacological and nonpharmacological methods are available for managing this pain. Sterile water injection is considered as alternative method for nonpharmacological pain management. ⋯ The application of sterile water injection is effective for relieving back pain in the first stage of labour and has a sufficient satisfaction level among women.
