To analyse the contemporary management of renal injuries in a UK major trauma centre and to evaluate the utility and value of re-imaging. ⋯ Non-operative management is the mainstay for all grades of injury. Haemodynamic instability and persistent urine leak are primary indications for intervention. Open surgical management is uncommon. Repeat imaging after injury is advocated for stable patients with high-grade renal injuries (Grade III-V), although more research is needed to determine the optimal timing.

To examine the extent and intensity of the coexistence of overactive bladder (OAB) symptoms in women with pelvic organ prolapse (POP) and to evaluate the likelihood of OAB symptom improvement after surgical POP reconstruction over a period of 2 years. ⋯ Results showed that POP was to a high degree accompanied by moderate-to-severe OAB complaints. Significant long-lasting improvements in bothersome OAB symptoms occurred after adequate surgical reconstruction of anterior/apical and posterior/apical vaginal support.

To compare prospectively the diagnostic performance of a biparametric (T2-weighted imaging [T2WI] and diffusion-weighted imaging [DWI]) 1.5-T fast magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) protocol with the standard 3.0-T multiparametric MRI (mpMRI) protocol of the European Society of Urological Imaging (ESUR) in men referred for a prostate biopsy. ⋯ In the triage of men with a high risk of PCa for prostate biopsy, an f MRI protocol (1.5-T magnet, T2WI + DWI, <15 min) may safely replace the traditional ESUR 3.0-T mpMRI protocol, saving time and contrast injection.

To evaluate the effects of switching from prednisone (P) to dexamethasone (D) at asymptomatic prostate-specific antigen (PSA) progression in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) treated with abiraterone acetate (AA). ⋯ A steroid switch from P to D appears to be a safe and non-expensive way of obtaining long-term responses to AA in selected patients with mCRPC. A longer PFS has been observed in patients with previous long hormone sensitivity duration, and/or low PSA level and/or short time to PSA progression on AA+P.
