Practice Guideline
COVID-19: Indian Society of Neuroradiology (ISNR) Consensus Statement and Recommendations for Safe Practice of Neuroimaging and Neurointerventions.
The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has forced every radiology set-up to evolve and formulate guidelines for day-to-day functioning. The sub-speciality of neuroradiology, both diagnostic and neuro-intervention, forms a very important part of any radiology or 'neuro-care' set-up. The present document is a consensus statement of the Indian Society of Neuroradiology, prepared after reviewing the available data and working experience. ⋯ It encompasses simple things such as which patients need to be imaged, what precautions are essential, the work-flows, cleaning of radiology equipment, how to carry out neuro-interventions in COVID-suspect patients, and what procedures/tests to avoid, or their alternatives, to minimise the spread of COVID infection both to the patients and health care personnel. As radiology set-ups can be large, every sub-speciality may have certain precautions which will not be covered in general guidelines, and this document tries to answer those for neuroradiologists. Carefully evolved Standards of Operating Procedure (SOPs) and guidelines are the need of the hour to guide in providing uninterrupted and adequate services to the needy without compromising the safety of the specialised work force and facilities involved.

Endovascular treatment of patients with intracranial aneurysms: feasibility and successful employment of a new low profile visible intraluminal support (LVIS) EVO stent.
Low-profile self-expandable stents have increased the number of intracranial aneurysms treated by endovascular means. The new low-profile visible intraluminal support device LVIS EVO (Microvention), the successor of LVIS Jr, is a self-expandable and retrievable microstent system, designed for implantation into intracranial arteries with a diameter up to 2.0 mm. In this retrospective study we aimed to elucidate the technical feasibility and clinical safety of the novel LVIS EVO stent for stent-assisted coil embolisation of intracranial aneurysms. ⋯ Preliminary experience in this subset of our patients confirms a notably improved technical behaviour of the novel LVIS EVO stent system when compared to its ancestor LVIS Jr. The enhanced visibility of the stent and the refined delivery/retrieval capabilities of the stent further increase the safety margins of the devices profile, especially in cases of tortuous anatomy.

In the present study, we aimed to characterise changes in functional brain networks in individuals who had sustained uncomplicated mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI). We assessed the progression of these changes into the chronic phase. We also attempted to explore how these changes influenced the severity of post-concussion symptoms as well as the cognitive profile of the patients. ⋯ Our results suggest that uncomplicated mTBI is associated with specific abnormalities in functional brain networks that evolve over time and may contribute to the severity of post-concussive symptoms and cognitive deficits.

To investigate multivariable analyses for noninvasive association of the isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) mutational status in grade II and III gliomas including evaluation of T2 mapping-sequences. ⋯ This is the first study evaluating quantitative T2 mapping sequences for association of the IDH mutational status in grade II and III gliomas demonstrating an association between relaxation time and mutational status. Analyses of T2 mapping relaxation times may even be suitable for predicting the correct IDH mutational state. Prognostic accuracy increases significantly in predicting the correct mutational state when combing T2 relaxation time characteristics and the qualitative MRI features age and localization.

The Sofia 6-French PLUS catheter is a recently approved aspiration catheter for use in neuro-endovascular procedures. The description of Sofia 6-French PLUS use in acute ischemic stroke is limited. ⋯ We demonstrate the safe and effective use of the Sofia 6-French PLUS catheter for treatment of acute ischemic stroke. Future studies in the form of a randomized clinical trial or multicenter registry are warranted to further evaluate its comparative safety and efficacy.
