To report a pitfall encountered during stenting of a complicated penetrating ulcer of the descending thoracic aorta. ⋯ Endoprostheses may present some drawbacks in terms of elasticity and adaptability to tortuous and angulated diseased aortas. Caution is advised in the treatment of penetrating aortic ulcers where the aortic wall is diffusely friable. In this condition, balloon dilation should be limited to the covered portion of the stent-graft to prevent stent distortion and erosion through the aortic wall.

To propose a classification system based on the position and extension of the intimal flap to assist in the endovascular repair of aortic dissection complicated by a malperfusion syndrome. ⋯ This appearance-based imaging approach combined with the symptoms of malperfusion syndromes during aortic dissection can help guide the endovascular treatment strategy.

To assess the impact of cerebral embolism and hemodynamic changes during the successive stages of carotid angioplasty and stenting (CAS) using transcranial Doppler (TCD) monitoring of the middle cerebral artery (MCA). ⋯ In CAS, TCD monitoring provides insight into the pathogenesis of procedure-related cerebral events. Microemboli during poststent dilation, particulate macroembolism, massive air embolism, and angioplasty-induced asystole are associated with adverse outcome, as are male gender and prior cerebral ischemia.

Aortoenteric fistula due to endoleak coil embolization after endovascular AAA repair.
To report a late complication associated with embolization coils used to treat an endoleak after endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repair. ⋯ Coil embolization to treat endoleaks can, on rare occasions, be the cause of aortoenteric fistula. Lifelong follow-up of stent-graft patients is required.

To report the successful endoluminal repair of an infected thoracic aneurysm secondary to methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). ⋯ Endoluminal repair is an alternative to open surgery for the treatment of infected aneurysms of the thoracic aorta.
