Analgo-Sedative Effects of Oral or Nebulized Ketamine in Preschoolers Undergoing Elective Surgery: A Comparative, Randomized, Double-Blind Study.
Premedication in children with ketamine is useful to produce mild sedation, decrease anxiety, help the child separation from parents, and provide postoperative pain relief with no or little adverse effects. ⋯ Nebulized ketamine, oral ketamine, preschooler, elective surgery.

Effectiveness of Ginger on Pain and Function in Knee Osteoarthritis: A PRISMA Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Ginger has been proposed as a complementary treatment for musculoskeletal pain. However, efficacy, type, and safety remains unclear. ⋯ Osteoarthritis, knee osteoarthritis, ginger, pain, randomized clinical trial, systematic review.

Comparison of Epidural Pressure Decrease Pattern According to Different Lumbar Epidural Approaches.
During lumbar epidural injection (LEI) using a midline approach, we might encounter failure of identifying the epidural space owing to an equivocal or absent loss of resistance (LOR) sensation. The reason for such absence of LOR sensation has been suggested as paucity of midline ligamentum flavum, paravertebral muscle, and cyst in the interspinous ligament of the lumbar spine. Despite its low specificity, LOR is the most commonly used method to identify the epidural space. ⋯ Epidural, paramedian, midline, pressure decrease.

Comparisons of Monopolar Lesion Volumes with Hypertonic Saline Solution in Radiofrequency Ablation: A Randomized, Double-Blind, Ex Vivo Study.
Chronic degeneration of the zygapophyseal joints in the cervical or lumbar spine are common causes of axial back pain. Radiofrequency (RF) ablation is a treatment modality in the denervation of facet joint-related pain. Although multiple factors have been theorized to contribute to the size of the optimal RF lesion, the addition of hypertonic saline solution has been posited to create larger RF lesion sizes. ⋯ Radiofrequency, ablation, lesion shape, lesion size, monopolar RF, hypertonic saline solution.

The Role of Pain Catastrophizing and Depression in the Outcomes of Physical Therapy in a Prospective Osteoarthritis Cohort.
Physical modalities have been safely used for decades for pain relief and for reducing physical disability in the conservative treatment of knee osteoarthritis (OA). However, patients' response to treatment is highly variable, which may be related to certain patient-related factors such as pain catastrophizing and depression. ⋯ Catastrophization, central nervous system sensitization, depression, disability evaluation, knee osteoarthritis, pain, physical therapy modalities, transcutaneous electric nerve stimulation.
