Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation at Different Frequencies for Postherpetic Neuralgia: A Double-Blind, Sham-Controlled, Randomized Trial.
Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) at 5 Hz and 10 Hz is effective in improving pain, sleep quality, and anxiety among patients with postherpetic neuralgia (PHN). But it has not been reported which frequency is more effective and which frequency is safer. ⋯ Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation, postherpetic neuralgia, pain evaluation.

The Relevance of the OPRM1 118A>G Genetic Variant for Opioid Requirement in Pain Treatment: A Meta-Analysis.
There is obvious difference in individual response to opioids. Many studies have examined the correlation between the mu-opioid receptor 1 (OPRM1) 118A>G genetic variation and opioid requirement in pain treatment, but the conclusion remains elusive. ⋯ OPRM1, genetic variation, opioid, pain, side effect, review, meta-analysis.

Percutaneous Endoscopic Debridement and Drainage for Spinal Infection: Systemic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Percutaneous endoscopic debridement and drainage (PEDD) has played a vital role in the management of spinal infection; however, limited PEDD results are available to date. ⋯ Percutaneous endoscopic debridement and drainage, spinal infection, meta-analysis.

Anterior cervical discectomy, with or without interbody fusion, is a common technique to treat cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM). To date, controversy still exists among spine surgeons regarding the anterior surgical approach to be used for the treatment of multilevel CSM. ⋯ Multilevel cervical spondylotic myelopathy, anterior cervical discectomy and fusion, anterior cervical corpectomy and fusion, cervical total disc replacement, hybrid surgery, effectiveness, safety, network meta-analysis.

The Effect of Speed of Normal Saline Injection on Optic Nerve Sheath Diameter in Thoracic Epidural Anesthesia.
Intracranial pressure (ICP) is affected after epidural saline solution or local anesthetic injection. Both ICP and epidural pressures have been shown to reach peak pressure just after epidural injection and begin decline thereafter. Measuring the optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) through ultrasonography is one of the noninvasive methods used for ICP assessment. ⋯ Epidural, saline, optic nerve, diameter.
