Chronic pelvic pain (CPP) in men is rarely considered to have a neurogenic (neuropathic) basis. Separation of neurogenic from non-neurogenic pain is possible using clinical examination and neurophysiologic tests. A definite diagnosis of neuropathic pain can be made. ⋯ Chronic pelvic pain, pudendal neuropathy, quantitative sensory testing, warm temperature detection threshold test, neuropathic pelvic pain, definite diagnosis of neuropathy, chronic prostatitis.

Until now, few studies had investigated the neuropathic pain component in patients with a rotator cuff tear (RCT). ⋯ Shoulder, rotator cuff tear, arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, neuropathic pain.

Neuropathic pain (NP) is a common symptom caused by lesions or diseases of the somatosensory nervous system. Acute/subacute peripheral neuropathies (APN) are rare, however can be particularly painful. ⋯ Neuropathic, pain, acute, subacute, neuropathy, polyneuropathy, frequency, incidence.

Sleep loss in infants may have a negative effect on the functional and structural development of the nociceptive system. We tested the hypothesis that neonatal sleep restriction induces a long-term increase of pain-related behaviors in mice and that this hypersensitivity occurs due to changes in the neuronal activity of nociceptive pathways. ⋯ Brain maturation, hypersensitivity, neuronal activity, nociception, pain, periaqueductal gray, postnatal development, sleep, sleep deprivation.
