Review Case Reports
Percutaneous Vertebroplasty for Primary Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma of the Thoracic Spine: Case Report and Review of the Literature.
Primary non-Hodgkin's lymphoma of the vertebra is rare in the spine of the elderly. The clinical presentation and radiological features are unspecific, which make it more difficult for diagnosis. We report a case of a 79-year-old woman complaining of serious backache without any injury. ⋯ The patient was diagnosed with primary bone lymphoma finally. Due to the previous condition of the patient, R-miniCHOP chemotherapy was applied following the surgery in the department of hematology. Until the 9 months follow-up, the clinical result was still satisfactory.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Evaluating the Adjuvant Effect of Dexamethasone to Ropivacaine in Transversus Abdominis Plane Block for Inguinal Hernia Repair and Spermatocelectomy: A Randomized Controlled Trial.
The transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block is a relatively straightforward regional technique used for postoperative analgesia in patients undergoing abdominal surgeries. Various adjuvants have been used in past to prolong the duration of action of analgesia in peripheral nerve blocks. Several studies investigating the analgesic efficacy of dexamethasone added to local anesthetic agents, such as bupivacaine, have shown promising results. However, there are few studies comparing the efficacy of dexamethasone with ropivacaine. ⋯ Regional anesthesia, transversus abdominis plane, dexamethasone, ropivacaine.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Randomized Placebo-Controlled Placebo Trial to Determine the Placebo Effect Size.
It is the gold standard to use a placebo treatment as the control group in prospective randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Although placebo-controlled trials can reveal an effect of an active treatment, the pure effect of a placebo treatment alone has never been presented or evaluated. No evidence-based, placebo-therapeutic options are currently available, and no placebo-controlled trials have been performed to elucidate the pure placebo effect. ⋯ Pain, randomized controlled trial, RCT, placebo, effect size, inverse placebo, study, pain therapy.

Observational Study
Management of Symptomatic Tarlov Cysts: A Retrospective Observational Study.
Symptomatic Tarlov cysts are a common cause of chronic pain. Many methods have been reported to treat this disease, with variable results. Most previous reports concerning the treatment methods of symptomatic Tarlov cysts were either sporadic case reports or series of limited cases. ⋯ Tarlov cysts, C-arm fluoroscopy guided, fibrin gel, microsurgical cyst fenestration, conservative management.

Normal sacroiliac (SI) joints vary widely in shape, and it is unclear whether SI joint morphology plays a role in the development of pain. To answer this question, we used 3D-CT surface rendering to image healthy study participants and used the resulting images to develop a classification system for SI joint morphology. In a case-control study comparing health research participants to patients with SI pain, we assessed whether the classification of SI joint morphology was associated with pain. ⋯ Sacroiliac joint, spine pain, 3D reformation, SI joint area, SI joint shape, SI joint pain syndrome.
