[Perinatal outcome in women suffering from chronic hypertension: literature integrative review].
The study aimed to identify patterns in the evolution of risk of perinatal outcomes of pregnant women with chronic hypertension in order to compare the results of the pregnancy outcome. It was held an integrative literature with time span between the years 1990 and 2010, in the databases LILACS, SciELO and MEDLINE. As results, it was observed that pregnant women had chronic hypertensive superimposed preeclampsia (20% to 78%), fetal growth restriction (8.5% to 30.7%), prematurity (32.4% to 86.4%), cesarean section (69 2%), placental abruption (3.75% to 8.4%), fetal death (9.5% to 27.2%), cardiovascular complications, maternal kidney and lung. We conclude that the association of chronic hypertension and pregnancy shows strong risk for maternal and perinatal complications, especially when associated with the severity and etiology of hypertension, showing no trend during the two decades studied on perinatal outcome.

This integrative review aimed to analyze the scientific literature related to nursing care for patients with arthritis. Twelve experimental studies were included, randomized and controlled, published in CINAHL, MEDLINE, SciELO and LILACS databases, using the controlled keywords "arthritis" and "nursing". ⋯ Specific educational programs for people with arthritis stimulated the practice of physical exercises and those targeted to people with chronic conditions in general were effective to control pain and functional disability. We conclude that there is a set of interventions that can support the practice of evidence-based nursing for the elderly people with arthritis.

The study aimed at analyzing the knowledge of nurses about the use of alteplase in the treatment of acute ischemic stroke. An exploratory descriptive study was conducted in a stroke unit of a public hospital in the city of Fortaleza, Brazil, in the month of October 2010. ⋯ Strategies to expand the use of alteplase were pointed out by nurses. The knowledge of the investigation may contribute to the construction of nursing knowledge and help nurses who provide direct care to patients who undergo this treatment.

The study was aimed at reporting a case of a patient who developed Hand-Foot Syndrome (HFS) grade 3 due the use of capecitabine and for which massage was used with aqueous-based moisturizer, aloe vera. The patient's functional capacity was assessed using the ECOG Performance Scale and the lesions were photographed during nursing appointment that occurred at intervals of ten days, totaling forty days of monitoring. There was significant improvement in tissue integrity, with total regression of symptoms, an important gain in quality of life, and immediate return to chemotherapy. It is believed that aloe vera can be an important component in nursing care in patients undergoing cancer chemotherapy.

The context of health assistance has been influenced by changes which are produced in the dimension of technology. They have triggered a lot of inquietude and questioning regarding benefits, risks, and relations constructed among workers and sick, and the use of machines as indispensable tools for care. This paper aims at reflecting on the use of technology in nursing care given to the critical sick in the intensive care unit. It is expected that this reflection can minimize doubts which permeate technological environments, such as the intensive care unit, and the conceptions of nursing care since it involves the use of machines and equipment which provide advanced life support in this field of health assistance.
